Can anyone please explain why prices for a return trip to Brisbane is almost double to the likes of Perth Sydney and Melbourne. Brisbane is bottom of the heap by far
Hopefully I'll be making a return trip later in the year,to keep our masters happy for another little while.
I'm using Skyscanner to get my prices it is usually competitive, but not anymore.
Cheers Itsa 😊

Maybe look at Scoot through Singapore. A$4000 is totally insane. I just flew MEL to BKK with jetstar for A$501 o/way. Scoot was only A$294 but bad flight times for me. But BNE to BKK and then Cebu pacific to MNL may be an option. Who is charging A$4000 for economy BNE to MNL? But Cebu Pacific as banjo said have really cheap flights at times. Or them to BKK and Airasia to QLD. Vietjet is another possibility maybe via Vietnam. but not really up with flights to BNE. Or to SYD or MEL and domestic to BNE. PER is always cheaper as I found out on my forced returns. hence I went there most times. from BKK at least.

Yesterday they all were hovering around Bht 100,00 on Skyscanner nomadic . It must have been a glitch because today prices are much like in the links I posted yesterday, and with the same carriers. The link is Canadian specific though the tip below should apply globally. Cheers 🐻
"Book during an optimal window Airfares can be high if you book too early or too late (both times mysteriously defined), and finding the sweet spot amid wildly unpredictable fluctuations is a guessing game. The closest thing to a crystal ball is Google Flights, which is usually my starting point when doing any airfare research.
Last year, the website improved its flight insights feature: Instead of simply telling you whether pricing for a route is “low,” “typical” or “high,” it’ll now also indicate “the cheapest time to book” — if there’s reliable trend data for your search."

Hi guys I have done a little research on Skyscanner Philippines for Return Flights ranging from 9 Sept- 23 Sept 2024 the results are as follows in PH Pesos Perth--- P19492 Melb-----P21441 Syd -----P24158 Hbt------P29943 Cns -----P39316 Bne -----P41942 Adel-----P46933 Most of the lower prices are with Scoot/Jetstar The more expensive ones tend to be with Singapore Airlines, I guess the decision is down to us what we pay for at the end of the day... Cheers Itsa

No escaping that by the looks of things, just double the cost for some of us. Cheers 🐻

Flight prices are all over the place. I am living in Thailand but getting medical treatment in aust. I am only needed at the hospital in Perth every 4 weeks. So instead of sitting in my rented room in Perth, I fly to Thailand after the treatments. I have done 24 flights since July and always look for the cheapest. Airasia used to win on good prices but lately Scoot has come up with some unbelievable prices. I am flying to Bangkok 27th April and then back to Perth 21st May for $311.54. So if you want to travel cheaply, be flexible and keep looking at the sites. When you see a good price, book it then, because a few hours later, it may be up $100.
