Hi All Wazza is the name and no Pain is the Aim ; I am new to this and am still in the dark on a lot of the process , Firstly I have been accessed from the 13 th Jan 2012 after being delayed from sept 2011.for some reason I think its something to do with the new rules and ways of 20 point ratings ,I well surpassed that anyway. As for my knowing what my rating is ,nowhere on my paperwork dose it say what it is or is it top secrete ;D. I would like to find out so I can poss apply for a long term visa O/S and avoid the 13 week thing , Is it as simple as asking them ,or am I missing something . I have been traveling throughout Asia for over ten years or more ,Its not as if i have just started this ,My injuries and cancer came after my love of travel. So now this restriction of 13 weeks is a bit of a shortcoming to my past lifestyle, I am on a min amount of money from DSP so its not the issue its the restriction that give me the irrit's . Any info greatly accepted and Hello to all, Wazza

Welcome to the board, I'm a bit of a wazza myself.
Portability, which is the amount of time a pensioner can spend out of the country, isn't like a visa. Centrelink can only with hold your money they cannot stop you leaving. At the moment we're waiting on the legislation to change, it's currently before parliament and the aim is to allow people on the DSP whom Centrelink considers to be truly buggered and a waste of space to come and go as they please. Because they won't do anything until it becomes law... 30th June 2012, all going well, it's pretty much guess work until then.
Until then we have to hope for more 13 week travel allowances. If you think that this will be difficult for another few months bear in mind some of have been on the system for nearly ten years.

I'm totally agreed that a little flippancy goes a long way when dealing with Centrelink. Please keep in mind that unless we quote a section of the Act, or the "rules" directly that our answers are just assumptions and opinions.

Hi Wazza
As part of your recent assessment, I assume that you were put through a job capacity assessment. The report from that interview would have the information you are seeking, your points rating as determined by the impairment tables.
You can ask Centrelink for a copy of that report, in person or over the phone. They will print it out and give it to you on the spot, or put it in the mail. It is no longer subject to a FOI request.
Alternatively, you could just give Centrelink a call and ask them to give you the information. They would have it recorded somewhere. Ask them to send a copy of the information, so you have it in writing, if you intend to use the information for your own advantage.
