Centrelink payments during the Easter public holiday period
by corrine on March 28, 2012
Centrelink offices will be closed on the following days for the Easter Public holidays:
Friday 6th April – Good Friday
Monday 9th April – Easter Monday
Wednesday 25th April – ANZAC Day
Special arrangements have been put in place to ensure customers are not disadvantaged as a result of these closures.
Centrelink advises the following important points for reporting:
As the form covers the full normal assessment period, customers must include estimates of earnings or other changes for the full period. Incorrect estimates are to be corrected within 14 days or on the next form
Forms with an early return date will be printed on yellow paper. If customers are a postal lodgers, they have the option to return their forms personally on the early return date
Forms can be returned after the end of the reporting periods if customers wish to wait until they are sure of your earnings or other changes. Remember that forms must be returned before they can be paid
Online Services and Phone Self Service will not be available during national public holidays for the Easter 2012 period. They will be available on ANZAC Day 2012
An early payment is not an extra payment. It is a normal payment paid early because of the public holiday period.
No payments will be delayed by public holidays. Some payments will be made early
Where payments are made early they are advanced by as few working days as possible – to minimise disruption to your budgeting patterns.
All dates for revised payments can be reviewed by visiting the Centrelink website.
