Yesterday I had to go to the Immigration Department in Thailand.
I was talking to another Aussie, he told me he was on the DSP but got cancelled about two months ago because of this Residency BULLSHIT.
He has decided to remain in Thailand and not return to Australia. I don't know what his financial situation is or how he will survive. I told him about our forum & web site.
This got me thinking that this forum and the 200 members we have is just scratching the surface. How many more out there we don't know about?
Anyone?

He must be living in a village with a wife and kids and has a few bob tucked away over the years, cant see any way he is going to survive long term though
Also a lot of O/S dsper's wouldn't know eg I didn't get a letter nor have I seen it in the news anywhere.

A lot of people have super and the Centrelink is just a top up. These are probably the ones Centrelink used when they penciled in the savings, those who would could afford to tell them to shove it.

good thinking Banjo sound about right, its interesting how people think only the lucky get to jet set, very adventurist and all that yet I cant see any upside unless its at least biz class.
its a pain in the butt ,even if the govt is paying for it
