Welcome to the board cuica. Try doing a bit more research into your illness on the internet. If it's obscure it may only be recognised and treated by a few medical professionals, maybe even at research level. Once you find a relevant specialist ask a GP to refer you to them. Welfare Rights in your home State are about the only people offering free advice on Centrelink matters.

Finding a good doctor is important . Like finding a good mechanic . When i first moved to Byron, i went to 3 doctors before i found one that even had a clue about one of my conditions. The rest had not been trained up on it and said they were unable to treat me or even give me advice. I had another doctor who , when i went into see him after waiting for more than 1 1/2 hours after my appointment time , asked me how was i feeling ? I told him i was angry at being made to wait and that the receptionist has messed up my file and put it on the bottom of the pile and then i had to start waiting again . He basically said that because i was unemployed, that i had all the time in the world to wait and workers were more important. I eventually found a doctor who knew what he was doing and treated my like a person,.......a good understanding doctor who knows about your illness is an important place to start i believe..
