If we will be detained in this country, why not making the most of our entitlements.
There is the EPC program for ex. I'm not sure if everybody is aware of, we're entitle to 6 visit / year to any health professionals. There is a very minimal fee to pay.
There is also some electricity assistance, I think if it was for MS patients or those with similar problems.
Do you pay ambulance fee? In QLD it's included automatically in your electricity bill. But DSP are exempt.
Do you pay council fees? There is a discount for DSP.
Since the Gov is saying that they will save millions on restricting us travelling o/seas, I intend to use all my entitlements to the very last cent.

Yes, if you're feeling anxious and depressed over your treatment by Centrelink tell your doctor to arrange 6 free visits to a psychologist under the mental health act. I get on well with mine, he had a Thai wife who has run off with their child so he bulk bills me on as many visits as I like as long as I advise him on what to do....

I've used it for massage, still have 4 visit left. I will use it and so is hubby. Bulk bill no problem in our area. Never paid a cent, and can go every day to my GP if I wanted to. Maybe we all should, and ask the most expensive anti anxiety medication which the gov. pays for.
And here is another benefit. If you need to see a specialist and it's not available where you are, they have to provide you with a free rt. flight + 60$/ day for accommodation. We used that service twice. Flew from here to BNE and both of us got free flight ticket.

The trouble is roxane, they don't really care. There's no government bean counter that gives a rats as he punches all the numbers into the computer... unless you could get enough people to do it to put the Federal budget back in the red they couldn't care less. And we're not going to do it with our membership. How many voted on the last poll? 20?

And we're not going to do it with our membership. How many voted on the last poll? 20? I've got an idea for you all. How about inundating the Centrelink social workers. that's what they are there for right? When you make the appointment to see them, just say "I'm from Group 154". When they ask you what that is, just put on your best poker face and reply in a dead-pan delivery "You know?! Group 154!....The 154 frequent travelling DSP'ers the Government introduced the new portability rules for. I'm one of them." Then explain the various hardships this has placed you under, and ask them to help you remedy the dire circumstances you now find yourself in. That is their job right? Whether it's emergency payments, counselling, helping organise appeals, emergency accomodation assistance, information about bringing your o/s family to Australia. They'll pretty quickly start keeping a tab on how much 'The Grounding of Group 154' is collaterally costing them.

Someone mentioned in a thread on here a while ago that people on DSP can get free dental treatment up to a specific amount. I approached my doctor recently for such treatment and was told it was not available, anyone throw any light on this.

Zolof is shit for me. You have to look at the whole range of drugs, and I have tried most of them, that they offer. The only thing I regularly use is alcohol to shut my mind down but then you get classed with the addicts. Marijuana is okay if you can get the good stuff and your head can handle it otherwise it is not worth ing about with the criminals who deal the shit. The only research that I saw that looked promising was some American research on a raped person where they administered MDMA just before they banned it. And I have not touched nor will ever touch what is sold on any street corner. And you are quite correct. I will not go by boat, yet. I fly into Darwin on Sunday 12 August. The next day, 13th is the 40th anniversary of my mother's death.l Despite all my anger I will probably just go down to the park and get pissed.

hey scuzzy, didn't you see crocodile dundee?
I actually got to make a documentary with Gus Mercurio, may he rest in peace, back in the '80's about Murray River Red Gums.
Camels I can understand bringing here. But water tractors? WTF! why?

It's an old Thai bar joke, the girlfriend lives in the village but the buffalo is always sick. So she emails the Farang boyfriend for money for medicine for the sick buffalo.
