im just curious about this whole JCA thing. Does anyone know of anyone who has had to do any work yet?
if so how many hours per week? what pay rate? what kind of work? and how long after the JCA assesment did you have to go to work?
I just heard of a guy (not on the forum or overseas) who has lost his DSP after a review.
Im trying to get my head around what they are up to and just how its going to affect our lives. Buggered how im going to support my family overseas if Im wacked on newstart then they realise i cant work... the future seems so uncertain...

How old was the guy and how long had he been on the DSP? I was under the impression that no one would be forced into a new JCA if they had been on the DSP prior to... 2006??

sorry no better info yet, hes going to see the bloke over the weekend and said he will ask him then. He seems to think hes been on it since an accident when he was a teenager, hes now about 50. sounds like hes definately off the dsp though... will check it out.

Well make sure he's up to speed on the appeals system and that Welfare Rights is available to help out.
