Mum pleads guilty to theft after she spent $2m - and she's been banned from RSL clubs
A SUNSHINE Coast mother accused of going on a spending spree after Centrelink mistakenly put $2 million into her bank account has pleaded guilty to theft. Judy Lorbek, 46, entered the plea in the Brisbane Magistrates Court today and will be sentenced in the District Court on a date to be fixed. The Coes Creek mother-of-three will remain on bail until that time but must not go anywhere near an RSL club as part of her release conditions after police claim she spent large amounts of money there in the past. She has also been released on a $400,000 surety and is facing up to 10 years in jail when sentenced. Lorbek was charged with the theft of $2,019,052.83 from the Commonwealth Department of Human Services child support program. The charge came after more than $2 million was put into Lorbek's bank account by Centrelink intead of a $2000 payment in February this year. what a stupid woman, wins the lottery and spends it, on what? pokies??? what the hell was she thinking? If she had any brain at all, she would have taken the money and run to cayman islands. But she must be such an idiot, she deserve to spend 10 years in jail. But my guess, she'll probably be getting off with a good behavior bond.
