I just received a copy of my Pensioner Concession Card that had been sent to my Australian residence in Canberra.
It shows that it expires on the 31 Jan 2013 and the Card started on the 20 Feb 2012.
It incidentally shows that I am yet to advise them of my Cairns address, which I have done and they have acknowledged, and prominently displays my home state as Queensland.
I still have my old card, Western Australia, Card Start 22 Oct 2010 and Expires 31 Jan 2012.
And just so you know, the 22 Oct 2010 date is when I was granted DSP.
I went to the Philippines late November 2011 having shifted my residence from Perth to a place in country Victoria.
After 31 Jan 2012 and I saw nothing of the issuance of a renewed Pensioner Concession Card, and checking with my Victorian 'mate', I put in an online request for a Concession Card but heard nothing.
I had to leave the Philippines on the 20 Feb 2012 to comply with what I then understood to be 'the law of the land', namely 13 week turnaround, and rang C/LI from Perth Airport to say I was leaving again that day and could I please have my Pensioner Concession Card.
No problem Sir.
Towards the end of April 2012 I received a pay that did not have the Supplement payment and I started to panic. It was then I found DSPoverseas.
I checked online and found out that my Pensioner Concession Card was going to expire on 23 May 2012 which was 2 days after I was due to return from my 2nd, in that sequence, of 13 week turnarounds. It was the 3rd in total.
So when I got to Darwin I thought I would do the right thing...attend a C/L office....big mistake....
I walked in and asked why was my Supplement cut. I was never told anything except 'refer to C/LI'.
I got assessed as non-resident and a member of a partnership. My money was cut but I was asked did I want a review. After telling me I had 2 weeks to go back, sort everything out, and be back in Australia.
And at this point Banjo I freely say I will kick her ***** ******* if I ever see her again.
I went back, and I know I am rehashing, ran out my time in the Phils, and came back to have my review.
And, by the way, all my entitlements were restored prior to my arrival back in Australia.
By that time I had 2 newstart reporting requirements from 2003....have had another cease of pension concession card and my Review Officer expressed surprise when I told her about my Concession Card being cancelled.
The Review Officer fixed the 2003 newstart reporting requirements but after that I got a letter telling me to report a 3 month period in 2005.
Fixed that with another Service Officer.
I'll let you know the next bit of the saga when it happens.
