I believe in the power of letters. My hand writing is like chicken scratchings & I have no printer so I sent some E-mails. My local member Warren Entsch replied to me suggesting I write to Senator Mclucas myself & that he would also forward my letter to her. He then followed up to see what had happened. Sen Mclucas replied with a link to portability under the new rules, failing to understand/care that it doesn't cover existing DSPers.
I got a nice reply from Senator Siewert (greens), and most of the 6 or so letters I sent out. I got a reply.
Most of them said they regularly receive complaints about C/L & Sen Siewert said the greens were committed to improving lives of DSPers and understood about the portability problems. I replied to Sen Siewert to let her know of my personal circumstances.
I would post them all here but I'm not a high tech kinda guy.
Anyway I think its worthwhile, you can look up the Parliament register group all the E-mail addresses BCC and write just one letter send simply write Dear Senator.
cheers Dan

Good on you mate....
I appreciate that you are technologically challenged.
But, if you can work out how to bcc every member of parliament do you think you can possibly work out how to post a copy of what you actually sent.
Perhaps you could bcc all the registered names on this board.
Failing that, just Forward a copy to Banjo.... ;D

NFA
It wasn't one of my best letters. I did it in a rush after a reply from Warren Entsch. I wrote to Senators Mclucas, Waters, Boswell, Brandis, Hogg, Joyce & Mason. complaining about C/L & not being able to stay where I want, Discriminating against the disabled, mentioning that although I have no future work capacity I cant live where I want & receive DSP. As I look through the replies there are only 2 Hogg & Mclucas, Entsch wrote me twice & Siewert twice also 1st time secretary didn't attach a letter personally signed. I think my focus will be on discrimination, how the new DSP doesn't cover existing DSPers & even swapping to the new DSP wont guarantee U/P but you just risk your DSP. But I got a nice reply from Senator Siewert (greens), the 1st letter I actually wrote was to someone who was mentioned on this forum a WA politician mentioning about C/L waiting times etc, I think they must have been working together. I think the greens r the go, my next round of letters I will target just greens & independents, I will put some thought into it & definitely post what I wrote & replies here.
Cheers Dan

I just received another E-mail from Warren Entsches Secretary in it she mentions that you cannot get portability if is decided that you are capable of 2hrs work a week, Ive seen it mentioned in these forums before but I never read it from a Government source !
If someone can explain how I can move an E-mail to here, I will post it, or if Banjo can message me an E-mail link/address I will forward him a copy.
