I think someone in CL tried to do me a favour: they excluded me from all participation, even though I specifically told them I wanted to go back to CRS to continue my program with them.
Two months later, I'm still trying to get that fixed. I've been told a whole series of stories. That I had to do a JCA first, which I did. (And was then told I'd have to do it again, six weeks later!) That I shouldn't go back to CRS; I should go to a private Job Network bunch instead. (No, high pressure tactics don't work on me.) That I could only get back into CRS if the JCA report got corrected before it was finalised, so I had to go to a particular office by a particular date, or else. (And then some bright spark finalised the report before that date, so now it can't be fixed.) That I have to have a special interview with someone now, to have any chance of being allowed to go back. (At an office that's a six hour round trip from where I am right now.) That I have to give them yet another medical report, even though I've provided them with two in as many months already.
I've been jumping through hoops for them for two months, just to be allowed to voluntarily go back to CRS, since I would actually like to be able to work again at some point.
I've been begging them for a phone interview for the last few days, since I'm having a bad flare-up of my medical stuff due to a change in medication, and I'm not well enough to make a six hour round-trip right now. I've missed the appointment once and been told off by their officious call centre people, to the point that I was basically in tears. But they apparently absolutely can't accommodate a phone interview, no matter the circumstances.
You would think that for an agency dealing with PWD, conducting phone interviews with people who genuinely aren't well enough (or aren't accommodated by transport) to get to an appointment would be basic practice. Any question they have, they can ask me by phone. If they really want to see me, there's Skype. I'm happy to do either one, and to scan and send them any documents they need. But no, that's not something they can do.
Frankly, I don't think I can handle jumping through any more hoops just to be allowed to go back to CRS. I think there's a limit to how much they can expect you to do, just to correct something someone stuck on your file. I've basically given up on getting the help I need now; I wouldn't give in to pressure to go to a private Job Network bunch instead of CRS, so they've locked me out of any DMS.
It's the real problem with so much of what goes on at CL: their bureaucrats make decisions about our lives without ever bothering to speak to us. So anything that gets written in our files has outsize importance; it counts for way more than it ought to, given that the stuff they write down isn't always right, and is almost never checked.
Anyway, that's my rant for the day. I know I don't have it nearly as bad as some of our members... but how does anyone deal with CL on a regular basis and keep from having a nervous breakdown??
Oh, also: why oh why do their people leave you phone messages, but not bother giving their name or a contact number, not even the call centre number?? Do we not deserve to be treated with some basic manners at least?
