What are Air Asia like to fly with? Same as Jetstar? I was looking today and I like their prices, $600 or so for a return trip from the Gold Coast to Bangkok. Jetstar wanted around the $500 mark there, and $500 to get back again for around the same booking dates. Dream on Jetstar!

You will have a stop over in KL, not sure if it hooks up with the flight to BKK or if you have an over night in KL.Be careful of baggage weight because they will make you pay for every kilo over.

Kuala lumper stop is only 2hrs. Not really a problem there though, done an overnight stay in the airport in the past, was ok.

Tune Hotel at KL airport is OK to stay at. Its basic very small room close to the airport shops + 7/11 downstairs cost is about AU$50. a night cheaper to book online. You can walk to the hotel or get an AirAsia bus, Tune Hotels are owned by AirAsia.

Back then it was paradise. I was last there in 2002 and it was very commercial maybe worse now. I have a Filipino friend who owns half the Island including the shopping mall. We would fly down from Manila in his private plane and stay at his beach house oh yes they were the days!!!

Kuala lumper stop is only 2hrs. Lumpy Koala stopover can be as long as 4 hours....it varies. The budget terminal is noisy....BYO earplugs.
