Technically you may lose your DSP if you are assessed as being under the current requirements.
All you can do now is wait for the result and if it's a bad one take it from there.

Yes they bought in tough new medical tables for the assessment in 2011, which means people who qualified for the DSP in the past may no longer qualify if they are re-assessed. l think l read if the government were to re-assess everyone on the DSP now 30% to 40% would lose their DSP. The government in the UK last year made everyone be re-assessed under tough new rules and 900,000 people lost their disibilty pensions.

Yes, get your ducks in a row for an appeal just in case.

I personally hope that there won't be an open season on current DSP recipients, they may just give us a lot of shit and hope we die young.

Seriously I think a lot of people who were pushed onto it in the 80s and 90s because they were too old to get a job even at 50 will be getting close to the Age Pension now.
Then they can say what a good job they have done reducing the DSP.

IMO UP was concocted to make them look better after going from 13 to 6 weeks. Dinky for the exact reasons you mention, I reckon they will quietly scrap UP within a year or two. For this reason I say go for UP whilst its still available

• Be permanently blind.

Once again these are the requirements, what am I missing here???!!

To get the dsp the above ARE THE REQUIREMENTS. ,INABILITY TO WORK 15hrs or more
