Hi,,, I'd like unlimited,,, but no courage yet to put my head on that chopping block ,, Happy to see a member posting tonight,, with a win. And some one much younger than me,, That's a good sign. I'm off next month for 5 weeks 6 days,,
My plan is to just keep watching this forum and see what I can learn .
I did look at the chart,, ? For illness, ( on a phone bit hard to read. ) I didn't even see Rhumatoid Arthritis ,, but maybe it's there. I'd like to hear from anybody with RA who might have tried for portability ,, if there is anyone. Any women,, actually,,,
Cheers and thanks.

hi Nocraptalk well ive just been approved for unlimited portability if u feel that you will pass the 20 points in one table for ra then go for it but if you can go onto a computer and check the tables if it has ra on them im sure it would and go to your doctor and ask him if he thinks you would qualify and only apply if you think you will pass

Well done,,,
My doctor says I've quite enough going on,, but also does not trust CL.
Unfortunately , she bears the brunt of the folk who are caught in the middle,,with the new rules.
This has coloured her opinions.
She suggests just to wait till old age pension kicks in.
This doesn't help the cause at all,, but there you go.
I will have a better look at the charts,,I've not given up
yet,, or given in.
Still checking the field as it were.
Cheers,, Nocraptalk.

maybe you should download and print a copy of the new tables and give it to your doctor and see what she can do then you have to have a jca which is a job capacity assessment and depends on what the assessor rates you as on the evidence given by your doctor and then if your doctor feels then you will pass then go for it theres no harm on trying if you feel you can pass it but if your doctor suggests you waity until the old age pension kicks in then go with her advice its really up to you

Thanks for that,,,,
On having a look,, some main points can't be argued ,, for me. Which makes me a little happier.
My RA will not be getting any better in said 2 years,, only worse,, there's nothing to be done but hang on for the ride.
Will I be able to work or be trained in said 2 years,, no.
I can now see ,,,maybe a light at the end of the tunnel.
Your right ,, my doctor sure I's not up to date,,in any case . I will do as you suggest.
Cheers.

On further reading,, feeling better.
I think the over riding fear of THEM tends to over rude the brain.
There's also reluctant acceptance of the scrap heap.
Seeing it all on paper is different to ,, She'll be right mate,,
De Nile is a river in Egypt,, after all.

I wrote a piece a while back on being scared of Centrelink and the effects it can have, I'll dig it out.
Why Are People Afraid Of Centrelink?
Why is it that people in an allegedly free society wont stand up to an organization that dictates to those whom it’s directed by the Government to pay a pension to which they are legally entitled? In most cases the recipient has worked hard and paid a multitude of taxes in their lifetime in the belief they would be looked after when age or poor health forced them into retirement.
When Centrelink becomes dictatorial and flagrantly inflicts rules of their own making on them the majority these people then lie down and allow themselves to be trodden on. Regardless of whether the law is on the pensioner’s side, as an examination of the appeals system shows that it often is, Centrelink all too often does what it pleases simply because people allow them to.
As governments continue to be elected on the promise of spending cuts public service organisations come under enormous pressure to save money, and it is usually at the expense of those that they are well paid to serve.
Many, even most, people are reluctant to come up against a government department. There is an instilled fear left over from the days when authority could do whatever it liked and imprisonment without trial for criticizing the powers that be was common place. Those days are gone; there will be no midnight knocks on the door for standing up to some petty lackey of the government and saying “You are wrong here, and I’m not going to allow you to get away with it”.
People who complain and write to the papers or form action or protest groups are all too often looked upon as odd, and the government encourages this, they prefer sheep like behavior.
Stand up for your rights and say what you think is the truth without fear of retribution; the more of us that do this, the more likely that we will get what we are entitled to. We elect politicians to govern us, not public servants.
I got some criticism of this as people say that we have good reason to be scared of Centrelink, BUT... that is not a reason for giving up.
