Hi to one and all,
I found this forum while doing some research on Indefinite Portability. I have been on DSP since 2005 as a result of significant mental health issues and since 2007 have been a regular visitor to Thailand, establishing a relationship with my Thai wife in December of that year. We married in Australia last year and have spent the last 18 months living here on the East Coast. Despite being happy living in Australia we have come to the conclusion that life would be a lot easier for us in Thailand as my wife has strong and close family ties. On the other hand my mental illness has left me bereft of close friends and no family ties. I intend to apply for Indefinite Portability at the earliest opportunity but want to do my homework before proceeding. One of the concerns I have is that all my medical history is in Western Australia and wondered what impact that would have on my application as the Doctors I have seen here have very limited knowledge of my disability.
I look forward to obtaining relevant information and will gladly share my Centrelink experiences with forum members as and when the opportunity arises.
regards,
happyjack

Welcome to the forum happyjack.
Could you write to/email/call your Western Australian doctor and ask him to send a report to the one you are using now to assist him with your application form? I can't see why two doctors would not cooperate in this matter.
