Tiger Air to fly from Bris to Cairns, Darwin & Adelaide

Tiger Airways is setting up a Brisbane base and will launch new routes from the river city to Cairns, Darwin and Adelaide.
The move will deliver 800,000 extra seats annually into Queensland, create 120 new jobs and increase services on existing routes to Sydney and Melbourne.
Tiger Australia says Queensland will account for 59 per cent of Tiger's total capacity in Australia from April next year when two new aircraft begin operating out of Brisbane.
CEO Rob Sharp says Brisbane has traditionally lagged behind other airports when it comes to budget flight options.
"Historically, budget travel has accounted for only 19 per cent of Brisbane's overall airport capacity, against 33 per cent and 26 per cent, respectively, in Melbourne and Sydney," he said.
Queensland's government says the state's tourism industry made Brisbane an obvious choice for Tiger to establish its third Australian base.
Flights to and from Mackay, the Sunshine Coast and Gold Coast have featured on the budget airline's schedule since it launched operations in Australia six years ago.
Treasurer Tim Nicholls says the airline's investment in Queensland shows the state's economy is improving.
"It goes to show our policies and direction are right," he told ABC Radio.
"We are encouraging businesses to move to Queensland, we are providing the right business environment, cutting red tape and keeping our status as a low tax state.
"I think it is an endorsement of where we're going in Queensland and government policy."
Operations from the new Brisbane base are set to begin in March.
Flights for the new routes went on sale on Wednesday.
