He is to be the Chairman of the Joint Committee tasked with determining implementation of the NDIS so at least he won't be able to do things on his own.

Still, not sure that's exactly good news. Mal Brough, Champion of the Sick, Gimpy and Moderately Crazed?? (i.e. us) Sorry, but I can't see it. But I do seriously hope that he proves me wrong.

We need a costing of what the savings actually are, sure there is a difference in the basic payments but how much of it would be eaten up by handouts to Job Centers to find work for the unemployable?
It's like the "savings" for stopping the DSP recipients living overseas, when someone who could actually use a calculator sat down it was costing the country more.
I believe that appealing to a governments better nature and sense of fair play is NEVER going to work, showing them the balance sheet has a better chance.

But it also increases costs here, due to educating, health, and training of those who want to renter the workforce is expansive.

Quite a concerning quote, really; whether he meant to follow through with it or not (which I should hope would be impossible for a lone politician to do, anyway) there's no way he could target only those involved in the brawl, in such a way that their family -- and especially their kids, who the whole Intervention was supposedly instituted to 'save -- would suffer too. Maybe it was the right thing to say to break up a brawl, but it sounds like grandstanding and threatening to punish a whole community for the actions of a few. Not cool. Bullying behaviour all the way.
