Not good bear they seem to be really going after our good friends in Cape York and the Northern Territory,I notice there's talk of increasing the disposable amounts available from 20% to 30% or even 50% in some cases, little sweeteners just to get their policy implemented.
I notice also there is mention of OAP, but I'm not sure if will have the gall to go after the grey brigade. If Labor and the Greens want to redeem themselves now is their chance, if not just crawl away into the bush and do the decent thing!!!

Yes, I repeat that I believe that this is some ideology like Hitler had or Pol Pot or the Taliban. Maybe not as extreme but still some crazy idea for THEIR perfect society. Stinks of religion this time from everything I see and hear. Just read an article briefly on Occupy Centrelink saying OAP may be using the cards also. So yes denis a GROWL just for you. I agree with you. We are becoming a narcissistic society very fast and it’s irreversible in today’s environment, the media, mind control on a grand scale etc. . People want to make out that the fact that they're they're succeeding in life or they're not mentally disordered or their handsome and heroic and intelligent and all that, they try and make out this is because of their superior model equipment. They do this by virtue of being better people and conversely, if you stumble or you're drunk or your depressed, drug addicted or whatever, is because you're morally defunct, there's no truth in this success is very largely a matter of luck. Things are sure to eventually collapse like previous complex civilisations, but will get worse before that happens, rather quickly.

They've got the gall alright itsmylife08 ..... they're doing exactly that to those you mentioned from the North. Once it's been legislated for them it'll be easy as to put all OAPers onto it. They want a totally cashless society so there's no more disputes about who spends how much on what. To achieve that, welfare recipients are going to be the guinea pigs. Then it'll be everybody....... cheers bear.

Ok ,so here’s a thought that may effect me. I’m on the OAP and am registered with Centrelink as a ‘traveller’. They told me to use that term when I phone them and said they have heaps of age pensioners travelling and to enjoy myself. It’s officially ‘no fixed address’, I provide them with my paid mailing address, Centrelink are ok with it all. BUT I wonder if people registered anywhere in the country as ‘no fixed address’ will get placed on the card early. Some of these pensioners are towing caravans worth 1/4 million. Any thoughts? Maybe I should change the address to a mates residence. My current mailing Address is NSW. Also I am sure there would be a fair few ‘no fixed address’ people on the DSP. Maybe it won’t be a geographical issue only.

So being a "traveller" as well I didn't want to be flagged in any way so have an address in Victoria courtesy of a long time mate who I joined the Navy with as a young lad, not too much information I hope but just to say one of those long term friendships when family don't want to get involved.

Maybe it won’t be a geographical issue only. Nothing is past the parliament as yet ann but as usual the first targets are soft targets in a specific geographical area. If it's allowed to happen there and they expand from trials to a national roll out; I don't think a specific geographical location is going to help much. There's talk of farmer's disaster funding being paid on the card as well. I think there needs to be more thought going into lobbying the opposition politicians against the appropriation bills being passed come budget time 2020. Failure of appropriation bills should mean a double dissolution and new election. It's possibly the only circuit breaker there is left. Remember how angry we here were about the Abbott, Hockey, Corrmann budget in 2014. Well IMHO life today and government expectation of control is way more out of control than five years ago. Food for though, cheers bear

I'll see if I can find it again, I saw elsewhere the form to exit the card program... It was fairly straightforward, not sure how long it will stay that way but it could also be an option.
I believe trying to income manage the aged pension may be the tipping point for this not to get through... Lambie flips quicker than a coin toss.

The first thing that comes to my mind is; "Was it a paid for story?" The second thing is; "Why do the Frankston locals receive $2076 a month in disability support pension payments and an additional $138 a fortnight in rental assistance." The media grubs certainly are doing their bit, as per usual. As an aside, I'd say ol' mate doesn't really have a raging habit; he looks in too good of condition. The bugs aren't under his skin yet either, by the looks. Cheers bear

Absolutely appalling.. We don't even know any of the story behind it or his "life background". I think the dog whistling is going to continue ramping up and the real trouble will begin.

1 in literally a million. This is what the scum media always do. Highlight the one so that the viewers think it is all. Not sure if some of the media don't disgust me more than politicians.

Maximum Australian based Single over 21 DSP payment is $926.20 per fortnight which is $1,852.40 per 4 week month which is $2,006.76 per calender month Maximum Rent Assistance payable is $137.20 per fortnight and to get the maximum payment your fortnightly rent is at least $305.33 per fortnight Plus, and correct me if I am wrong, but I doubt that you could get DSP for ADHD! I think the whole thing needs a complaint to the Australian Press Council against Channel Nine's A Current Affair and News.com.au plus a reference to the Victorian police and your local Federal member of Parliament www.presscouncil.org.au/making-a-complaint/
