There are some pensioners that are fairly well off and others that are struggling to surive ,<b> l think the one off payments amount should be based on individual savings and assetts, for example those who have very little savings and assetts should get say $2,000 while those who are better off get $500. <b> That would be commonsense but the chances of getting a bonus payment you described Bunyip old boy is about the same as picking a straight 6 on a Saturday afternoon

Four articles picked from the experts on the subject, to dissect and tide you over for the next 26ish hours. Nothing stands out for this commentator, other than we are reasonably assured that the couple of cups of coffee raise we didn't get, will be attended to. I look forward to reading about whatever crumbs are thrown out way upon rising Wednesday morning. Cheers bear Chief Advocate Ian Henschke discusses National Seniors' 2020 budget submission nationalseniors.com.au/advocacy/FederalBudgetThe Federal Budget is just around the corner. In anticipation, National Seniors Australia presented its budget submission to the Treasurer’s office late last year to give the government plenty of time to consider our proposals. The submission has urged the government to improve those policies most important to older Australians.nationalseniors.com.au/members/our-generation/autumn-2020/budget-2020-our-budget-visionNB: "2.5 million pensioners to get extra help to make up for an inflation-related rise not going ahead". 2 lots of $250 to pensioners in the budget. They seriously think pensioners can last on that in a pandemic? Not including them on the Covid supplement was a disgrace as it was.

we get two lots of $250 while the wealthy on over $200,000 a year income get $20,000 in a tax cut, why dont we get $20,000 and the rich get the $250 instead that would be fair

What a garbage budget that pretends to sell returned funds as increases. lol Jobseeker will sadly return to original rate in December. What a disgusting government.

Back then though, plus being French; people were prepared to actually fight for better conditions. Today's humans seem to have the mongrel either knocked or bred out of them.......

The well off in this budget get a massive $507 billion in taxcuts , while we get lousy $250 bucks, imagine what the governemt could have done with $507 billion instead of using it for tax cuts , they pity much could have lifted all DSP's and pensiones out of poverty , maybe they could have given us all a one off payment of $50,000 each. Thats what they would have done if we were a fair society

yes the old liberal ' lifters and leaners ideology' some banking executive on $300,000 a year is classed as a ' lifter' so he deserves a big tax cut and handouts while people who are disabled and cannot work are classed as ' leaners' and get nothing
