An unusual case but, as he said, he's not receiving the pension for that condition. This doesn't stop the politician getting some cheap publicity slagging him off though. He won't want to hold his breath waiting for an apology.
.... and anyway, what does it matter what he spends his pension on?

If they ever manage to bring in their next scheme against us, it will be income management for us all. No cash. Just rent certificates issued to the landlord, and vouchers for groceries and petrol. (That will fix all us disobedient children who still smoke cigarettes, as well!).
If that day comes - we should all start showing up to Centrelink dressed in adult diapers, with our dummies and our bottles in hand.
They term us as 'welfare dependent' these days, something to be frowned upon. However, if we didn't exist, wouldn't they become the new unemployed?

It's a chicken and the egg thing I think Spacey, but 0% unemployment will never happen again, the jobs are gone; either overseas or lost to new technology. It will take someone really smart to think of a way of finding work for everyone and paying them without inflation going through the roof. And we are talking about politicians here. Come back Karl Marx, all is forgiven.
