Population clock On 3 September 2021 at 10:09:32 PM (Canberra time), the resident population of Australia is projected to be:
25,805,603
This projection is based on the estimated resident population at 31 December 2020 and assumes growth since then of: one birth every 1 minute and 43 seconds, one death every 3 minutes and 13 seconds, one person arriving to live in Australia every 1 minute and 30 seconds, one Australian resident leaving Australia to live overseas every 1 minute and 26 second, leading to an overall total population increase of one person every 4 minutes and 12 seconds.
These assumptions are consistent with figures released in National, state and territory population.

We're in the same boat there Itsa....I don't have the wherewithal to work out the formula whereby Oz is gaining one person every 4:12 minutes. The fact there's one leaving to live overseas every 1:26 minutes floored me. That's quite a lot in a year and I surmise they're the ones openly declaring it as opposed to long term holiday makers.
Where the static number of Ozzies still stranded fits into this equation would be anyone's guess; if the algorithm remembers them!! Though I did read just yesterday they'll all be home for Christmas; again. Cheers bear

I can remember quite clearly when we hit 10 million. It was around 1960 and I was about 8 years old. Our school had a massive celebration. I know I didn’t understand as my town of a few hundred hadn’t changed since I was born. I expect you guys remember also.

No ann I was only 6. But imagine how many would be leaving on DSP if allowed. The fact that disabled Australians get a far better life in Thailand or the Philippines, let alone Cambodia today seems to say it all to me.

I’m saving as much as I can, selling off stuff and getting ready. I plan to be out of here October 2022. That gives me enough time to get fitter, learn the language and be ready for the trip of a lifetime. Might stopover and catch up with some of you for a beer on the way. Got a countdown app on my phone = 396 sleeps to takeoff.

The money he has saved me recently by not using the bank directly to transfer here anymore means free beer for all whenever I am in Chiang Mai. Totally astonished when bear showed me how much the CBA were STEALING from me. The difference alone is enough to live on here. P.S. yes free coffee in Chiang Rai also. Plan to visit before years end if possible.
