At one time over the years I used to get almost 1 letter a week from Centrelink. 99% rubbish but told me of any rises and exactly how much I get. But nothing now in almost 2 years. Not even one. Has anyone else noticed this? If you have mygov do you get lots of stuff on it. I have a P.O. box in Oz that a friend checks for me. But now nil I just realised.

I only receive mail when they have something new to tell me. That’s rare. I get it in myGov.

I only receive mail when they have something new to tell me. That’s rare. I get it in myGov. Same as ann nomadic . The regular Centrelink mail of which you spoke tapered off dramatically after I was granted DSP in 2000. It was mostly confined to letters telling me of all the new whizz bang programs they had that could help me back into work. I saw it as Howard attempting to seek absolution for his great sin of putting the dregs of his unemployed; those of us on sickness benefits on DSP, to fudge his unemployment numbers. The upside of those letters was I had a choice, to either respond or do nothing so; no absolution from me. Possibly my last snail mail was calling me in for a two year review. All that water's twenty years under the bridge now though. Cheers bear

Some telling me totally useless stuff like how many working credits I had, whatever that meant. Straight in the bin. But also about all my payment details and any rises. All up until a few years ago long after I got UP even. I do not have mygov.

Hi nomadic, just saw your question, sorry for the late reply. I can’t remember how many years ago I had mail from them. It’s totally online.
I do get the replacement blue card in the mail but nothing else - ever.

Was just wondering if there is anyone in Oz (or elsewhere), with no mygov account? Do you still get snail mail? I used to get stuff every month or so for years but not had a single letter in at least 2 years to my OZ address.. So I never know officially if I get a rise even. Seems strange but maybe cutting down on costs or trying to force us into getting a mygov.

The threads have been merged to here as it looks to be more of a "Centrelink Experience" thread than just havin' a "Chinwag" about "Mail from Centrelink". The fact you thought you needed to re-ask your OP elsewhere on the forum(here) is the reason for my opening gambit. MyGov doesn't send much mail either in answer to your O-OP. I only have four letters in my inbox advising of the four "one off economic support payments plus a welcome lerrer. Normal bi-annual rises don't deserve a notification it seems.
If perchance you were thinking of giving up your P.O.Box due to lack of traffic; I wouldn't, and won't be giving up mine. The cost is insignificant considering it gives one more tenuous grasp on Australian residency should they decide to ever clamp down again in the future.
But hey thanks for my Monday arvo conundrum. To delete, to close or to merge. So, RUOK?? Cheers bear

Firstly, speak Angrit please? I will never know Thai until I get a Thai wife my land lady told me 20 years ago. So not fluent and never will be. It seems I asked the question ages ago but missed the replies so just occurred to ask again but must have changed mind on where. Ruok? I know ruay as I am now it as you know. I also know chock dee so as it's silly season I will probably say it tomorrow on a flexi day. Mai pen rai. Chock dee.
Edit. Not ages ago at all I just saw. Only last month. Time flies even when it doesn't.

"Are You Ok"...RUOK. It's been a rallying cry for the disabled; primarily for the mentally ill for over a decade. There's even a particular day in every year dedicated to it; and like you, I'm never going to be fully bi-lingual so definitely speaking Angrit. Cheers bear.

I used to get stuff every month or so for years but not had a single letter in at least 2 years to my OZ address.. So I never know officially if I get a rise even. Seems strange but maybe cutting down on costs or trying to force us into getting a mygov. I noticed it too. I do not have my gov, I like doing things the old way- paper or phone. The paper mail for me slowed down to nothing but new pension cards a little before I moved which was I believe around march 2019. I actually contacted them not long after I moved to double check they had my correct new address. They used to send so much stuff all pretty much the same as you mentioned getting but now I get nothing. I feel they are pushing the mygov just like they did the medical records online thing, they tell you of all these things you can do through my gov and it takes so long and so many phone calls to find out how to get the same services, rights or information without a my gov account now- the latest little thing I have run into is that they want you to link your vaccine status to your my gov which I do not have- my medical and vaccine status is my business and I do not feel I should have to automatically share it with people who are not health professionals, I do not have to do this for the flu shot or any other virus, ailment or illness I may have (or have been immunized against) and I do feel it breaches my rights to my privacy- I know it honestly does not matter really if a bar tender or Bunnings worker knows my vaccination status but I refuse to automatically offer it up. Slowly but surely they are gaining more ease of access to everyones business. I do not trust technology nor am I any good with it so I will not voluntarily sign up for communications or access to my personal health info for any reason.
