Not today no, however, expecting mine tomorrow morning 8.30 - 9.00 sharpish.
Please try to keep this thread on track and use it for it's original intended purpose; i.e. "Clearing times for 4 weekly payments into overseas accounts" because off topic posts may not, not will not; be here next time you login. Cheers 🐻

Not sure what's gone on with this thread. The original question posted by JJJ88 has disappeared, leaving the answer to it starting off the thread. Another post on another board has been deleted and this thread has been renamed to reflect it's main content; "Discussion of 4 weekly payments into overseas accounts." Please discuss these matters here. As a matter of interest, I'm expecting my pay to be somewhat late due to the six days of holidays marked to celebrate His Majesty the King's Birthday and the two Buddhist Holy days. Hopefully those of us in Thailand will have been paid and things back to normal on August 3rd. Sorry Bear I think I accidently deleted posts. Don't ask me how lol.
There are no public holidays in Aus, US or PH so there should be no delays for Pensioners in PH.
The Aussie Dollar has taken a nose dive with an exchange rate of 0.66 AUD/USD while the USD/PHP is stable at nearly 55 PHP. So given the decrease in the AUD the pension could be a lower amount this week.
On a much better note, happy birthday and 3 cheers to His Majesty the King.
Hipip! Hooray!
Cheers

Have to go see if they're open though, to get their app reactivated on a different device. Cheers 🐻

Mine was in Monday at 5PM. I too was wrong about exchange rates as my amount was the highest it's been in about 4 months which was to my delight. More peanut butter sandwhiches and black coffee.
Cheers

Sign In Australian Dollar Australian dollar 40 cents in 2024? David Llewellyn-Smith Wednesday, 9 August 2023 DXY was up overnight and looks set to break out. EUR fell: AUD was crushed to new lows but rebounded: Oil and gold were soft: Goodbye, dirt: Farewell miners: EM stocks are finished as an asset class: Junk is still a warning: The bear steepener reversed: But stocks fell anyway: There are lots of things going on. Italy freaked out equities with a bank tax. The US CPI will probably come in weak on Thursday. These are playing a role. But I think the market is starting to sense something is wrong in China. Very wrong. This is why the AUD is copping it more than wider risk-off dynamics suggest should be the case. For the past few months, I have been shopping around the notion that the AUD may go to 40 cents in the next business cycle. This thesis is based upon the analogy of the 1990s in which the Japanese development model stalled in a property crash, and American technology firms took over the world with the rise of the internet, driving US economic leadership. These two crushed commodities and the AUD. Today we can supplant Japan with China and the internet with AI to get the same growth and forex dynamic for the global economy for the next business cycle. But there is another possibility. The Chinese economy is already in dire straits. It is being ripped apart by the impossible trinity of being unable to manage its currency, interest rates and capital flows simultaneously. Its property and infrastructure debt bubbles are bursting. But it can’t slash interest rates and sink CNY as an offset lest it trigger capital flight and geopolitical backlash. This internal debt-deflation dynamic is uber-toxic for growth and inflation. If it gets out of hand, AUD may hit the 40s long before my 5-10 year outlook. Share About the author David Llewellyn-Smith is Chief Strategist at the MB Fund and MB Super. According to Wells Fargo and Forbes Advisor the AUD/USD will stregthen in 2024, 100 percent contradictory to the article above. Unfortunately there is no simple answer of how much our Pensions are worth overseas. But at least here in PI it's safe to say that essentially it is 50 percent cheaper in regards to cost of living in comparison to living in Australia.
Cheers

Cheers J I always equate most things here as 1/10th the cost of oz. local produce mostly. Anything imported is taxed heaps so usually costs more than in oz. So I never ever buy it. Minimum pay is about A$12.00 a day so locals cannot afford A$30.00 for a bottle of red that i can get in oz for $10. No on wins with these stupid taxes because they get $0 if no one can afford these things.

When I think about it is true it's 1/10th of the price when buying local here aswel, from accommodation, food, medication and other essentials. Imported product taffifs are high here aswel. Local products are the best anyway. Unless it's brandy from Spain which you can get for about PHP120 a bottle. Cheers J
