I actually just checked on visitor numbers to Thailand and Philippines as even though its been 4 years since I had to do a visa run I never really found it that long a process as what it seems it is for leaving Thailand.
Bloody hell but Thailand gets way more than the Philippines with tourism comprising about 17% of the Thai economy and only about 6% of the Phils.
Seems like a good move by the Thai authorities.

Even those who don't need to leave the country have to report to an immigration office every 90 days. Even if been living here for 50 years. It helps keep track of foreign criminals they say. BS I say. Plus every Thai has to report when a foreigner stays with them on a gov website. They want to know our every move. |
