Once again bear thanks for that, I tried to find the original post but as usual, no luck was typical of me I guess. I don't have much luck with things like that, and I am a bit scared that I'll stuff up my accounts, hence the post, etc. Cheers Itsa

Depends if your on the 4 weekly payment or fortnightly the timing of it all. And I wouldn't leave very much, if any at all in Citibank. If money can go missing in British Post Offices via computer "mistakes"!!!

Hi Denis I took your advice and went into Citibank today to start the process of withdrawal, and to my chagrin, I found out that Union Bank who took over the Philippine franchise has imposed a fee of PH 250 for each withdrawal Maybe we had it too good with Citibank for too long with no fees at all!!! Ah well, what can you say time waits for no man. As you would be aware NAB bought the Australian business consumer chain. As a matter of interest has NAB got a sister bank in the Pines, I want to avoid those fees at all costs, no pun intended!!! Most of the banks have a 10k limit withdrawal, with charges recurring, I would not be a happy chappy if any advice big buddy Stay strong and keep the faith... Cheers Itsa

itsmylife08Itsa, In Australia I have an online account with BankWest (now part of Commonwealth Bank) and use Wise to transfer my money to originally China Bank ATM Savings A/C and now Land Bank ATM Savings A/c. Both allow up to 50,000Php per day ATM withdrawal and no charge if you use their ATM BankWest use some service called Faster Payments, which I think all Australian Banks have, and as long as the transfer is $1,000 or under it only takes a few minutes to transfer to Wise and it only takes them about 15 minutes to transfer into my Philippines bank account. Wise charge $7 for $1000 but their fees are listed on their website. I used to use Western Union before Wise but I see their fees are cheaper than what they used to be. I've never used an Australian Bank to send money here and always used a Remittance Service because the banks are too bloody expensive sending money overseas plus the exchange rates they use are a lot less than a remittance service. If you check Wise at wise.com/au/send-money/ and change the currency to Php down the screen they compare themselves against ANZ, CBA, NAB, WU and some others. They show NAB as costing nearly $31 to them... higher fee and lower exchange rate. NAB has some arrangement with BDO for Fillipinos but what that costs I didn't check. Cheers

Hi guys Just to let you know that I called Centrelink International today to pass on my details regarding the imminent closure of my Citibank account on 24th Feb and to forward my DSP pension to the NAB details provided. This was done without any fuss and I was informed that my next payment would arrive on blah blah. Your branch is in Victoria that's a bit weird I thought as I'd never banked/ lived in Victoria, never mind it was just a Bank branch to where my pension would be sent nothing else right?? My previous account was with Citibank in Brisbane City, so why not NAB also... Next on my bucket list was registering for online banking with NAB, I was informed that I needed to register with SMS security to operate the account and proceeded to with the instructions given. This is when things started to get a bit strange it said we already have your number as xxxxxxx391 and have sent a code to this number, I don't ever recall having one such number especially not in the most recent past at least, It wouldn't allow me to proceed beyond that point, which was very frustrating. I decided to leave the rest for another day, my head was wrecked at this stage. Was this all part of a scam? who knows? I think I've seen a number for NAB support in Australia which I shall call tomorrow, I've got to speak to a real person, not some AI, if you know what I mean...
Cheers Itsa Wish me luck.

You sound almost as frustrated as I get with these things. The technology running our lives outrages me. No choice either. No one worried about going to the bank on payday to put a few dollars CASH in our accounts and live on the rest of it for another week. Never ever rang a bank. Good luck itsa. I'm lucky I use another bank. This time. Yes, I'm old I know.

Just call the standard NAB number and ask to be trasferred to the team that is handling the migration from Citi to NAB. Make sure they have your Philippines number so they can send One Time Pins. For SMS Security registration call +61 3 8641 9886. this is so you can set your atm Pin on the card. best to call them and talk to a human

Hi mulloway Thank you so much for that information, I think I have things under control now. I just have to provide 100 points of identification eg, a Passport, Medicare Card, Centrelink Card with CRN Number +++ and have them notarized then Email them. Everything should be fine within a day or so, PG. Thanks also to bear and Denis, as well as anyone who has contributed, your support has been greatly appreciated. I will keep you in the loop... Cheers Itsa

Off topic but needs to be shared I think. I've had three interactions with my ANZ bank over my C/C in the last nine months. Twice they assured me the lock that'd been put on it had been cleared..... It hadn't been!!
Last Tuesday I had another crack at it..... Spoke at length with a friendly person who cancelled that particular card, took my Thai address and said a new one would arrive in two weeks. Pleasantly surprised Wednesday morning by a DHL tracked consignment SMS saying a document from ANZ Thales Melbourne would be being delivered today, Friday.
10.45 am at my door. They can do it when they choose to. Cheers 🐻

Hi all A bit of good news at long last, I received a call from NAB in Australia this morning, very pleasant and accommodating they were I must say. This nice guy helped me through the process of setting up Internet banking and also activating my account and Debit Card, what a relief I must say. It's clear now that any monies left in the Citi account on the 24th of February will be transferred over to NAB. Once again bear on the money as usual ( no pun intended ) thanks also to Denis, mulloway, genx, and anyone else who assisted in the process, you are all very much appreciated. Cheers Itsa
