Issues with myGov......anybody else?

G'day all, this morning I was just going to jump onto myGov like I've done untold times before. No worries, one secret question and then no further, prompted to try out Digital ID and return to myGov and finish signing in. So; I sign up for the Digital ID bizzo...... Bit of mucking about but it's producing codes.
This is where the fun began; trying to switch between apps and not finding anywhere to put in the code. Nevermind; I'll have another go at just signing in again. Name, password..... Ahh, code box. Just not the digital ID code box as it turned out. A code box for the myGov code generator app it said. Rightio, download, install; but it must be registered. Cannot register because the Digital ID is registered on 'this device' isn't it!!
Research..... To connect digital ID to myGov you must do so from inside the myGov app itself or remove that ID to maybe register the generator. Nothing was clear as evidenced by the comments on the Play Store; but if you continue to have problems call the myGov helpline.
Luckily they've got an overseas number (see below), so guess who'll be up at 4.00 am to call them at opening time and hopefully get it sorted.
I've spoken with a person in Oz who said they were still being granted access via secret questions two weeks ago but, there were info boxes throughout the aforementioned processes stating secret questions were being made redundant because they're just not secure enough. 🤣 🤣 🤣
Out of interest, for over a year now my first two or three random secret questions have failed but really; like I don't know 'my first pet's name, favourite subject at school, favourite childhood book or which car I learnt to drive in.' Thankfully I always gained access on that third or last❓ NOT THIS TIME THOUGH❗
Oh forewarned is forearmed...... there's a face scan involved in setting up the Digital ID which requires removing visual aids. It makes things interesting trying to see and read the on-screen instructions with your phone up against your face to fit it within the frame. The experience is quite interesting with multicoloured swirls and no actual photographic image...... like a mini acid trip. Good luck, all the best fellow forum members; cheers 🐻
