Thailand, Australia to consider visa waivers.
Thailand and Australia have agreed to consider the possibility of introducing a mutual visa exemption scheme for travel and business activities between the people of both nations.
The proposal was raised during a meeting between Thai Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin and the Governor-General of Australia David Hurley in Bangkok on Feb. 14.At the meeting, Srettha affirmed the Thai Government's commitment to taking measures to promote tourism, including those to ensure safety and create favorable conditions for tourists' travel activities. Hurley and his spouse are on their four-day visit to Thailand from Feb. 14-17 to promote the relations between Australia and Thailand.

Just not sure on which one of those two is trying to win 'Best Award for Big Noting' here; as Hurley isn't in a position to make foreign or immigration policy and Srettha, according to Thai sources will say just about anything to try and remain relevant. Still IMHO it's something that is long overdue....just don't hold your breath. Cheers 🐻 e.vnexpress.net/news/travel/thailand-australia-to-consider-visa-waivers-4711664.html

What does it actually mean if it happens? We already get a month free on arrival like many countries. Maybe not even a stamp? Visa waiver?

It would mean Thais would get a visa exemption to visit Australia nomadic ; a reciprocal arrangement, but given the current lack of trust in approving visas for general travellers, for fear about them not returning home, I think it's a stretch. Cheers 🐻
