I read this article today, it is a year old but is still relevant. It's particularly relevant where one partner is not disabled and is working in a job that doesn't pay that much. The woman in the article is sometimes able to work, but sometimes can't. I'm willing to bet that most of the time a rich able bodied person is unlikely to be in a couple with a DSP recipient in any event - at very least in these situations the pension should be paid at $0 but the concession card should remain and that there should be no need to reapply if the relationship disintegrates - there needs to be a safety net in place, much like the 2 year suspension rule that let's you have a crack at working above the income test. www.abc.net.au/news/2023-02-24/qld-disability-pension-partner-income-tests/102013448
