Hi all has anyone ever had the experience of having their mail opened before they received it!!! Today I received an information package from N.A.B regarding the Debit Card which they sent out some weeks ago. And there was my mail in all its glory with the A.H. sliced out of it, obviously someone at the local post office must have looked at the package from a bank in Australia, and thought this was their lucky day (money maybe) or credit cards Identity theft who knows for sure. Someone told me oh that happens all the time here, really I said, and that makes it ok? The consequences of such an action/offense could have far-reaching issues for those concerned. The moral of the story is to be on your guard and not wait for it to happen to you... Your thoughts Itsa I'm in the Philippines, does this happen elsewhere...

Mail isn't something I get often Itsa, but to the best of my knowledge it's not been interfered with. My sister packs it up with a small gift, registers it, then posts it off.
I think I posted about my C/C debacle in the NAB/CITIBANK thread. What surprised me was the willingness of ANZ to post it to my Thai address, when in the past it was just not on.
Credit where it's due though; in that they used a secure packet through DHL with tracking, therefore there was no Bank Branding on it anywhere and it arrived within a week.
Perhaps a quiet word to NAB to follow suit for any further correspondence.
Overseas packages through Thai Customs is a whole other story and interference can be expected, though again, credit where it's due..... Packages have certainly been opened though all to date (touch wood) have arrived. Cheers 🐻

Exactly bear that's how it should be, sadly for me the trust has been broken with the Philippine postal service, and I will have to think long and hard before I use them again, the damage has been done, and it is Irreparable. Cheers Itsa

That's no good mate I guess options other than Philippine Postal Service would likely have to be on a case by case basis. Cheers 🐻

I seem to have lost some money I posted from Thailand to my Goddaughter in Australia. Two months now.

I seem to have lost some money I posted from Thailand to my Goddaughter in Australia. Two months now. That's a mongrel act for your Goddaughter and you, Banjo. Itsa, send your mail from/to Australia registered. Costs more but it can be tracked and they have good tracking systems in place. Argao Post Office send someone around to tell me when I have something to pick up.
