A BUDGET initiative to force unemployed people who repeatedly miss appointments and avoid obligations into joint interviews with both Centrelink and their job agency has been exposed as half-hearted, with new guidelines telling the agencies they do not have to attend.
In May, the government provided $14.2 million to fund joint interviews between employment service providers and Centrelink with job-seekers who were having difficulties meeting requirements.
