Spent 45 minutes in a queue waiting to lodge a form for a health care card. Got to the counter and the idiot behind the desk tells me that sinc I was there last, things have changed and they don't fill it out on the computer anymore. I have to fill out the form myself, then stand in another queue.
I don't have any pens on me and the staff arent doing anything and there is no one around so I have to go too the Reject Shop to buy a (*)(*)(*)(*)ing pen. I gett in my car, fill out the stupid form, then go back in and line up in the queue again, for another half hour.
When I get up there I find out I am way over their limit because they calculate by gross amount, not net amount. I don't even see that frigging money! To me, it doesn't exist because it never reaches my bank account!
The guy tells me I am around $300 over the limit, but if you go by net amount and add the sums, I am $20 under.
He basically tells me that I should either hope for less hours at work or tell the boss to give me (*)(*)(*)(*) all hours so I can come back in a few weks and fill out the stupid form again and wait in line for another hour.
I ask him why it goes by gross amount when that is before tax, and I never even see that money. He tells me its how the government saves money. Well, at least he's honest, I guess.
Was trying to get a card because I'm struggling to pay the bills. I'm still waiting to hear if I was successful in the last job interview I had but I doubt it as no one has called me about it. I usually only have it for the six months and then I don't need it anymore. But I have to wait for the boss to give me virtually no hours so I can be under their limit.
I'd need to be earning no more than $400 a week to get one, but once I have one, I can earn $600 a week and they won't take it away. Impossible to get one, easy to keep it. How stupid.
I know they need to stop lowlifes from rorting the system, but my only problem is that they calculate by gross income, not net. To me, thats just not right.
