Thought i'd drop in and say hello. Have been lurking around the last year or so since IP was announced, some good info here and interesting stories. Been on DSP since 2005 but only started going overseas 17 months ago, doing 3 months o/s then coming back for 4-6 weeks. Head back o/s tomorrow, had my JCA 2 weeks ago for IP and currently waiting for the result. Was my first ever review for DSP and was a surprisingly pleasant experience

Head back o/s tomorrow, had my JCA 2 weeks ago for IP and currently waiting for the result. Was my first ever review for DSP and was a surprisingly pleasant experience Hi Flyer:) Good to see you return mate. I waited for two full months after my JCA, before I had any idea what was going on, and that was only after I phoned C/L International twice for the results. It was only then, that a polite young woman told me I had actually been granted "IP", then about a week later another young man backed up that phone call, with further acknowledgment! It is normally not policy they said, for C/L to even tell you of the outcome Flyer, so ring them in 6-8 weeks and ask how you went. Hopefully you will receive it also mate; but do as Banjo suggests, and make sure you get your complete JCA file in writing, so as there wont be any future confusion about your travel. Its a long wait Flyer, but if you do succeed and obtain it, then that's a Great day:) Be safe out there mate... Cheetal:))

Thanks for the welcome Banjo, the only surprise was how little time the JCA lasted, 10 mins max. Was there a username "flyer" here previously Cheetal? If so i'm not him/her. C/L international told me 3 months for an outcome, then during the same call also said they received my JCA in Hobart 2 days after i was assessed, so who knows. I'll let more details be known down the track.

Good Luck with it:)) Cheetal

Flyer: That's Great news old mate, and I see they must at least now trying to be courteous and informing us! But still go in and ask for it in writing mate, I'm sure you'll find it interesting reading. One more has gained their rightful dignity to self promotion and independence; slowly but surely we are beginning to get our numbers up. I think that's three of us now that I am aware of? Good for you flyer, I'm happy for you mate:)) Cheetal...

Hi Cheetal, i have it in writing, it's an updated version of the "your plans to travel" letter saying dsp can be paid indefinately outside australia, 42 days pcc etc. I'm 39 so will be affected by the working life residence after 26 weeks o/s as i don't have the current 25 years over 16, i don't know if i'm still a considered a resident. I'm overseas now so maybe that's why a letter was sent. How you are treated by them is all the luck of the draw, although after 20 years of mind numbing drugs i don't know if i could tell the difference in how they treat me.

Hi Flyer, so you are overseas and they notified you about your IP, I rang IP in Jan 2013 and was told I had to wait for their results before going overseas to the Philippines, I had my JCA on the 11th Feb 2013. I did not know that they will let you travel and notify you about the results.. Good luck mate...
