And if you choose to do the report thing, it can be done online, provided your credentials are all in order. The main one being "your registered address", something I'm still struggling to have recognized. All will be well I hope with that, after my 28 days OS in Oz. Geez I love sayin' that. 28... days...OS ..in...Oz! Cheers bear

Thanks every one for the help . Yes i was reading on Thaivisa about no more stat decks for earnings.I hope Thailand Immigration sort that out as many people dont have a lazy $35000 laying around for the retirement visa. I would think a Pension statement from mygov should be all they need. But who knows .. I still have till June next year for my move so I will see how you guys go in Chiang Mai. Thanks Again

Brilliant stuff bear. I can't stop the giggles. What happens if you overstay your 28 days in Oz?

Brilliant stuff bear. I can't stop the giggles. What happens if you overstay your 28 days in Oz? Immigration detention, deportation; not sure on that one. Have to play it by ear I guess, just try my hardest not to overstay, and at least I'll get a little top up for about four and a half pays. Cheers bear

How about going back for a top up every 6 weeks. Then you would get full pension all the time. Like a visa run. Cross the border and straight back. Extra $60.00 every two weeks. The only reason I would ever overstay would be if I was winning on the horses. So never had an overstay as yet either.

Now there's a thought, but I'm not enjoying flying all that much anymore, and besides, I'll save more by staying here.

Flying does become rather a drag. I think we all get an incredible sense of deja vu in airports.....because we have been there and done the same thing before, so many times.

Yes latindancer if you jag two short layovers it's not too bad. This time however I've got a fifteen hour somewhere in China on the way back. At least it'll be new scenery. Go figure, fly North to go South and with a two hour layover it'll be an 18 hr flight to Brissy. Enough time for a recce and on the way back I've got an excellent assortment of Banjo's books. Cheers bear

I have vowed never ever more than 3-hour stopover ever again. Flights were always based on price only but now happy to pay more for a direct flight. Lucky can get budget direct from Bangkok to Melbourne or domestic to Had Yai from Chiang Mai before slow overland by bus for a rest in K.L. and a few choices for a direct flight from there. We are all talking like rich business people rather than dspers with nothing but a pension. Imagine if the general public knew all the flights we take. I think I am almost up to 300 boarding passes since I was forced to fly by Centrelink in 2004 until 2013. And then when I am reimbursed meaning they paid for most of them. They will be both as angry and amazed as I am. Next flight in March direct.

Please give me a reminder before you go and I will PM you my phone number, if you'd like to chat when you get here. But I won't be offended if you do not...we all have our own story and the reality of meeting other people is always completely different from the online persona.

I have also flown Cathay where you head north to Hong Kong from BKK first and then go south to Oz with 8 hours or so in H.K. airport. Metal chairs with arm rests and very expensive beer (meaning none) meant horrible trips. But was cheap and good airline so win some lose some. But Jetstar direct BKK to MEL after a few days to relax in BKK first is about as good as it gets and it's always jetlag every time for me these days. So mind still wants travel but body not so much. P.S. Melbourne airport is only one where beer is reasonably priced compared to outside prices so while it is still over the odds not by as much as most others. The downside is that after a couple in cold Melbourne at midnight from boarding to seatbelt sign going off I am usually busting for the dunny. Yes, it still amazes me that on DSP only I have these things to moan about. UP for all would/should have more like me also. Moaning bloody happy.

Yep at Chrissy time, when all is factored in, return train from G.C. etc it's about $400 cheaper than Air Asia; my preferred carrier. I'm a Queenslander for sure, but not Brissy though, Rocky! However I'll be in Brissy from 8.00 pm 1 Jan - 10.30 am 2 Jan; so if you fancy a trip out to the airport? Have to do an airport sleepover, as the earliest flight on the second, isn't early enough. Cheers bear

Jeez, Bear...on the night of 1st Jan, I will be hung over from my one solitary beer on New Years Eve. And probably not in Brisbane. But if, in the very unlikely event I somehow am, you would be welcome to stay at my place.....and I would take you to the airport the next morning ! I myself HATE airport sleepovers. However the only thing that may keep me in Bris is if a really hot Latin dance is being held here....I really AM a Latin dancer !

Just heard from an Thai immigration guy that when you now do your 90-day report you need to keep and show all your previous 90-day receipts. Yes everyone one of them. Sounds like a Centrelink decision but be warned it maybe a problem if not. Doesn't affect me but many others if true. He said to spread the word. So just did.

After reading that nomadic I just had to check my passport, because although I've only done two I had a distinct memory of them taking my first one out, to staple my new one in. So, if that's the case everyone need to make sure they don't keep it. And yes, I've only got the current one! Cheers bear
