Okay, so even though I'm a bit wary .... I think Centrelink has granted me DSP. Knowing all the stuff ups that have been going on, I thought I'd double check my Centrelink account to make sure I didn't have to do the "Fortnightly Reporting" for NewStart. And the "Fortnight Report" button has disappeared. And the amount I'm being paid is WAAAAAAAAAY more than I usually get. So I checked the "Payments" record and it's changed from NewStart to Pension Although I'm not going to believe it until I get the letter - Guys, I think I've had a win !!!!
If I didn't have a buggered leg, I'd find a table to dance on.
Many thanks to all of you that have been there for me with help, support and encouragement. I think I might have quit the whole debacle without you. Thank You
krystalGood on you krystalWell deserved. I cannot recall what notice I received when granted DSP, if anything. But if you go to your C/Link Online account and 'click' on the "Request a Document" icon there are downloadable documents there, pdf format, that should give enough information to ease your mind. All the very best. Cheers Denis

Good on you Krystal. The letter they give to you telling you you have got DSP is short and reluctant compared to all the others. Mine was simply," you can keep your DSP." That's it.

Happy and GGGGGWWWWWing at the same time. Obvious why happy but first post on this thread was May 2016. Why did this take so long? The fact that you won out (when official) means we all went through this for nothing other than to try and put you off. How many others have been put off by them because they have not seen this forum at least. Every win like this proves again the need for a royal commission. But enjoy the moment Krystal while still remembering even DSP is not riches in Australia and you have to lose bodily function to get it.. But here in Asia we are a little bit rich. last night dinner at a restaurant, 2 cans cost me $2.80. So UP maybe? CHEERS!

does anyone know the answer? Will Krystal be reimbursed all the money not received since she first claimed DSP? If not then why not? They obviously stuffed up costing her money. Maybe debt collection in reverse with no algorisms needed. I am still yet to get mine after 4 years but live in hope still. one day?

My understanding is that if there has been appeals etc since the first application it goes from the first date. My current application goes back to March 2016, the first was Sept 2015 but nothing happened with that so the Tribunal could not grant from then. Krystal - so relieved that you have been awarded DSP

My first application was in November 2013 that was denied by second tier AAT in January 2016. Then they posted all my medical information of a public website. With trying to get Centrelink to update my impairment points to reflect the AAT decision and trying to get my medical file OFF the internet, it took me until November 2016 to steel myself to put in another DSP application. I lost in 2013, won in 2016 with the exact same medical information. Go figure. It appears they are backdating my payment to the date of my November 2016 application. And damn it, I'm buying a steak

Seriously, Banjo will know better than I but I don't think I have come across anyone that has been more 'jerked' around by 'the system' than yourself. Notwithstanding nomadic's journey. I take me hat off to you for your persistence, determination and righteous anger. Much Respect

AND it continues *slumps on a chair*
So first thing this morning I had a telephone call from the new DES-DMS provider saying "You've been granted DSP so if you don't want this Program of Support we can exit you out"
Centrelink hasn't told me anything (they haven't notified me on the outcome of my DSP application, why a new DES, why they removed me from my DES-ESS Program, etc etc etc) but today I got two letters from them.
The two letters are titled: About your Mutual Obligations Requirements for Newstart; and Your Centrelink Appointment
Letter (1) is two pages of veiled threatening sentences that states: "You may be required to meet your Mutual Obligation Requirements by attending compulsory appointments with us every 12 weeks. We may also check that the information we already have about you is correct. This is to make sure that you are receiving your correct entitlement. "
Letter (2) again veiled threatening sentences that states: "To continue receiving your payment, you must keep the appointment we have arranged for you and depending on your circumstances, agree to or renegotiate your Job Plan. If you do not keep this appointment your payments may stop and a penalty may be applied to your payment."
And to top it all off, this appointment they have made for me that I HAVE to attend is a telephone appointment. Coincidentally, on the same day as the new DES provider is going to ring me for a decision of whether to exit the Program of Support.
My head hurts and I have got about a thousand questions starting with "What the ......"?
