AND it continues *slumps on a chair* So first thing this morning I had a telephone call from the new DES-DMS provider saying "You've been granted DSP so if you don't want this Program of Support we can exit you out" Centrelink hasn't told me anything (they haven't notified me on the outcome of my DSP application, why a new DES, why they removed me from my DES-ESS Program, etc etc etc) but today I got two letters from them. The two letters are titled: About your Mutual Obligations Requirements for Newstart; and Your Centrelink Appointment
Letter (1) is two pages of veiled threatening sentences that states: "You may be required to meet your Mutual Obligation Requirements by attending compulsory appointments with us every 12 weeks. We may also check that the information we already have about you is correct. This is to make sure that you are receiving your correct entitlement. " Letter (2) again veiled threatening sentences that states: "To continue receiving your payment, you must keep the appointment we have arranged for you and depending on your circumstances, agree to or renegotiate your Job Plan. If you do not keep this appointment your payments may stop and a penalty may be applied to your payment." And to top it all off, this appointment they have made for me that I HAVE to attend is a telephone appointment. Coincidentally, on the same day as the new DES provider is going to ring me for a decision of whether to exit the Program of Support. My head hurts and I have got about a thousand questions starting with "What the ......"? It's the left hand continuing on in NewStart mode not knowing that the right hand has given you the DSP.

After i read your post Krystal I was going to put the biggest growl ever but I think Banjo is spot on. Total incompetence only. I have experienced it many times but you still cannot believe it happens. So hopefully nothing to worry about. So only my normal GGGRRRR. BUT SURELY THERE IS SOMEONE OUT THERE TO BRING IT TO THE ATTENTION OF THE WORLD AT LARGE.

AND it continues *slumps on a chair* My head hurts and I have got about a thousand questions starting with "What the ......"? krystalI found out I had DSP from my job provider network thingy. My 'consultant', whom I had shamed into helping me with my DSP application, was amazed that it only took 4 weeks from application to grant. Not boasting, just is an indication of my disability and there uselessness in seeing what is in front of their eyes. Now Banjo, and possibly a few others, can tell you that I can be, on occasion, a tad precipitous. So kindly take this with a grain of salt. But if I were you I would take those 2 letters (after photocopying them in colour and hiding the originals) and go to, maybe, C/Link Victoria Park office and walk inside and start screaming at Hank and Tudge and while I tried to light the letters with a cigarette lighter. Make sure you are in scope of a video camera. And cry. They are arseholes so respond as you see fit.

Banjo is spot on. All you have to say is, "I'VE been granted DSP." and if it is what you want, "Exit me NOW!" Cheers bear

When I was first granted DSP it took my provider 2 months to finally cease my appointments regardless of how many times I told them "I am now on DSP!" They just keep trying to grab fees while they wait for Grinchlink to confirm things.

We had the same thing with Unlimited Portability of the DSP, getting a confirming letter that it had been granted was like pulling teeth. If I recall correctly some had to book to go away (with a return date!!! ) before being told that they did not need to return.

If I recall correctly some had to book to go away (with a return date!!! ) before being told that they did not need to return. When I got UP I received a phone call to tell me and a letter request to tell them when I was leaving which set out all the reasons I would loose DSP if I didn't do this or that. But nothing about UP at all in the letter. I posted it on the forum somewhere. Looking back I don't think the workers in the C/Link system can understand how anyone on DSP can gain UP!

It shouldn't take them 2 months, I'm not sticking up for the providers but it's probably written into their contracts that all of that sort of thing has to come directly from Snail-link. I'd point the finger of waste, and possibly corruption, there.
Edit: I just sent Senator Siewert an email about this.

Truly BanjoI was cast onto the magnificent help of one of the major government funded employment (?) agencies and they did nothing. But I had already been told that I probably qualify for DSP. So I was a tad up front through the whole process.

Just keeping a running total of information that is confusing and contradictory: 1) L/- 18/1/2017 stating I have to do a Mutual Obligation Participation plan for NewStart 2a) L/- 18/1/2017 stating I have a telephone interview that I need to attend? or my payments will stop (doesn't actually say what payment). 2b) Also says I can't be on a voluntary DES program is my working capacity is 0-7 hours (but doesn't tell me what my "Working Capacity" is). 3a) L/- 20/1/2017 stating my Newstart has been cancelled 3b) Same letter states my Pension Card has been cancelled (as at 20 November 2016? - wait I've used that card in that time frame, I used a cancelled card? OMG call the temporal police so I can fix that will ya) 4) L/- 20/1/2017 stating payment of Disability Pension (but the amount is wrong to what was actually paid) - Looking forward to the telephone appointment tomorrow that is going to discuss how they can support me further when they have taken the support I did have off me (of course if it was a NewStart appointment, they aren't going to ring). - Also the telephone appointment with my DES provider that I can't be enrolled with considering my "work capacity" (or is that just a rule for work capacity on Newstart?). Oh and dear Centrelink, if you could issue me with a Pension Card, that would be really cool too. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Krystal, if it was me I would be heading to Vic park office to see someone in person. Although in saying that I was once escorted out by a female manger as she continually said "NO SAVINGS PROVISIONS" which was a 100% lie. I wish i had of got her name. I always found that in general talking to someone in person was more productive. p.s. denis growling so i will take day off.

Update:
Centrelink - "The only way we can change your support stream back to the ESS (regular, ongoing support) from the DMS (occasional short term support) is to do another Job Capacity Assessment".
Yes, that's correct folks. After being on DSP for all of two weeks to put me back on the support I had with the provider I have been working with for 2 years, I have to do ANOTHER JCA (and run the risk of cancellation of my DSP).
