No, a few SSAT appearances but the Federal Court is a fair way ahead of that. I've always been a bit dubious about how much sympathy the HRC would give us, my attempts to interest them in our situation have so far gone unrewarded.

I wrote to all sorts of organisations, including Health Ministers, about what Centrelink had been doing to me. No interest.
Someone recently suggested that I contact the Council for Civil Liberties, but I haven't done so yet.

No if, bundy, they are a done deal. Whether Centrelink will give them to the people who deserve them though is another story. We can only wait and see.

It is rather belittling, isn't it ? Makes you feel so small and unimportant. The annoying part is wondering if something went wrong with the line of communication, or whether they are still processing and you're just about to get a reply. I think you need to take control and phone them, to MAKE something happen, or at least get a response and find out their official line on the subject.

Welfare rights are a private group with government funding but that doesn't mean that they toe the government line. Often they get busy, as you can imagine, but in many cases if they take time to reply it's because they are looking into the situation first. As LD says, a phone call will get a direct result but remember that residency is a complex issue that affects a small minority of DSP recipients.

We may be partly to blame for that, we upset them by posting some of their emails last year. I'm surprised that they are not receiving them at all though, I was communicating them by email as recently as February.
