Hi Everyone
It is a real weight off my shoulders that I fund this site and able to talk about my problems and ask some questions.
Big thanks for all of you who created it.
Let me introduce myself. I’m 61 had a car crash a few years back. My right side has been smashed with multiply injuries from fractured hip to broken ribs punctured lung and a lot of other things which I only fund out years later. RPH didn’t bother to fix me hip, healed the wrong way, ended up with pinched nervs and so much pain I been in a bad way since. Won't bother you with the rest of the problems from my accident I have planty more unfortunately.
Not too long ago I had a heart attack quarter of my heart is not working. I have high bloodpressure.And a top of that I was diagnosed with advanced osteoporosis, already had a few hairline fractures here and there.
I applied for portability I have a sister and a brother and 2 son's from my previous marrige back in Europe and I really want to go back there and stay there before I kick the bucket and have someone to look after me. I don't want to be in a nursing home.
I’m a bit nervous about the work capacity assessment. I heard horror stories about it, how C/L ignores doctors report and so on.
I don’t think I am mentally ready for a fight but if I have to at least I want to be prepared as I have no idea how this new system works.
I’m just wondering if anyone can tell me about these assessments more.

Go with anything but pain. Pain is not recognized by the Impairment Tables, which you must read. It is all about how well you can shop at a mall by yourself (why, because going to a Westfield mall equals the living death that is Australia). Otherwise, relax, know the "mall" answers, it is all a sham.

If you allow Banjo, Banker and I to assess who you are and write a little more about yourself in a private message, then I'm only too willing to offer you help and advice mate:) I've helped three others prepare for the JCA privately at this point, and the three members have all won their freedom with Indefinite Portability, so something seems to work; including myself as one of the first in Australia:) So don't be too concerned about it mate, because if you dot all the iii's and cross all the ttt's whilst preparing properly, then you'll probably achieve your "IP". Welcome to the board blueheeler.
Basically before you do anything you need to see your health professional: local GP or specialist... and get him to look at the tables and tell you what he thinks.

Hi Guys,
Thanks so much for your offer of help. Regarding Westfield I can honestly say I never been there, it would be way too much for me to walk around it.
I did see my GP he is doing the report slowly as he has to learn the imperment tables too. But I did fill out the forms what I had to.
As I have a problem with my whole right side that includes cramps and numbness in my leg and feet I don't drive my wife does all the driving. We had to change from a sedan to a small bus, because I could not get out from it by myself. The Mitsh. bus is perfect I can sort of slide out from the seat, and if I need to I can even lay down in the back.
Regarding pain thats all I have and a lots of it, I understand it is not a problem to C/L but because of pain I can't sleep, I got to a stage like a baby. I have to have 3-4 little sleeps daytime, bc the most I can sleep is a couple of hours and pain or cramps wake me up.
Grampy Old Man is the best way I can discribe myself, and I'm really greatful that my wife puts up with my mood swings, she even helps me to use the computer.
Thanks again for all your help and let me know what else I can tell you about myself.

Thanks for that mate he is my doktor for over 20 years, and yes he needs time to put all the paperwork together and he needed new CT scans and so on.

he will have to know how the table works..if u don't get your points go to another doctor..as I have said b 4...2
conditions can go into 1..if associated...good luck..from some1 been kicked out for over a year,residency rubbish

Yep there is not an impairment table for pain, BUT and I fairly certain it comes into play and adds points to the disability table you are under. Maybe Banjo or someone can chime in here. Cheers |

there is a pain table that i can see chapter 22 of the impairment tables its assesed under table 20 miscellaneous-malignancy-hypertension-hiv infection-morbid obesity-liver kidney transplants ear nose and throat conditions and chronic fatigue and or chronic pain Unfortunately C/L don't seem to place a great deal of importance on associative chronic pains do they Anthony, and apart from mental disorders and a few other afflictions; how many other afflictions "don't" have exaggerated pain problems? That's how cunning the written legislation is, and this term "Fully Stabilised" is the Catch 22 of all time, I believe!  |

Fair enough statement Barangy; but they can not see or therefore understand mental illness either; can they? So therefore, in my opinion and enacted understanding, C/L are not only fallible but also wide open to duplicitous understanding of aforesaid afflictions, and their own misguided and misrepresented understandings of such! So, be it as such; it's all about presentation and the proofs in the pudding we feed them and in our allowing them to be as smart as they think they are, believe you me???   |

associated pain is counted and ADDS to ALL impairment ratings.
