It's easy to blame Asia but South America is doing the same thing and cheap farm products from the US are picked by people paid peanuts on piece work.

There's something like 800,000 on the DSP, the Libs are about saving money so work out what that many assessments will cost. Also where will they go? On the dole, which of course... trashes the unemployment figures. They can't find real jobs for the people on the dole now. l think Abbott said something about creating a second disability pension people whose disability might not be permanent, anyone know whats that's about? See also my post re Welfare Rights Site in response to their 2013 election checklist. I believe from a friend of mine in England, that this 2 tier thing is something they have introduced. Sort of a "you're disabled now, but you might be able to work in the future " I think this new category has all sorts of different rules re Assets and Income tests also. I agree with Banjo, simply cannot see the $'s making sense to review everyone.

Is the 2nd Tier a lower rate of pay , does it have jobsearch requirements or what? How do they decide whose on the 1st tier or second tier.

If you want answers, just look at incoming Minister for Fahcsia Kevin Andrews and his stuff........ kevinandrews.com.au/media/release/national-release/its-the-same-old-labor-approach-to-centrelinkIt is quite clear that the incoming Coalition government will be faced with a hostile/complicated Senate, and they are likely going to have a lot of difficulty introducing radical or complicated legislation with regard to the DSP and other welfare payments...... Which means, in all likelihood, the incoming Fahcsia Minister Kevin Andrews will most likely order that ALL DSP recipients will undergo a fresh medical review under the 2011 Impairment Tables, within 2014. This is what is available to him, this is what he's gonna do....... So it's gonna result in 300,000 DSPers being dumped onto Newstart, just like the Tone-ster said he was gonna do, straight from the horses mouth....... The spinoff will be about 100,000 more homeless on the streets of the Australian cities......... Apparently, the music sounds better in the hot sports cars, when you are crushing the homeless under your wheels.....

Yes 100,000 of us made homeless while the liberals handout $75,000 to millionaire women to have a baby. But if they kick 300,000 onto newstart wont that increase the unemployment rate massively which would make the libs look like very bad to the general public, even lib voters
