I have always made it back within 6 weeks and they have never mentioned non-residentcy. Thats why I feel not fair. The manager must be having a bad day or he had just joined the Gestapo. I have always been honest with them just surprised to be treated like that.

There have been a number of warnings issued to members over the last year for frequency of travel. Cutting someone off a few days before they are due to leave without prior warning is a pretty low act, they must know that the loss of the airfare would eventuate if the pensioner stays in Australia to contest it.
A few years back I was cut off while I was overseas and after a number of complaints the minister directed Centrelink that this was not to happen again.
I guess what happened to you is a new weapon in their bag of dirty tricks.
In your case you need to email a complaint to your federal MP and Kevin Andrews. You should also consider a complaint to the Ombudsman.
