On a side note. I was complaining to Jetstar about the website for online booking not working and they ended up giving me a 50$ voucher.
And all my flights from Dawrin -Changi-cebu Return was rough total 600

I do not believe there is anyone who understands how airfares are priced. I have said this for decades. I normally return from Melbourne to Thailand around April 17th. After the water war is over. So was looking last week and Thai one way was $1,300.00 because coincides with Easter this year. Never ever paid over A$800.00. A week later after Easter it is $500.00. But accommodation over Easter cancels it out almost anyhow. So got agent to look around and she got Quantas for A$690.00. Not flown Quantas for 30 years because always the dearest. Even low cost jetstar is more expensive on same date. So there is no logic to all this. Pot luck is the go. And i got lucky for a change. And even great flight times. No loss of sleep. midday movie and Bangkok late evening. Sleep over and Mai next day.

Currently seems to be lots of amazingly cheap flights being offered. Flight centre has MEL or SYD to BKK return for around A$220.00. Malaysian airlines big ad in the paper yesterday. BKK to London rtn for 23,000 baht and many other places also. Sadly I'm not in the market at the moment. But always seems to be deals around of some kind these days.

Some amazingly cheap flights around currently. Just saw STA in Melbourne with Etihad to Europe for A$799.00 rtn. S.E. Asia even less. I saw flights from Bangkok to Melbourne with Air Asia or Jetstar for as low as A$200.00 one way for my yearly return next March. Sadly I can't pick a date as yet. What will it be when I do. The usual advice is book when you see them as usually gone the next time you check.

Nomadic how do I get to buy from STA when I'm not a student, would love to buy from them. Thanks It'd be fairer if the tickets were means tested because, there are a lot of rich students out there who don't need low cost; and a lot of poor pensioners who do......just sayin'. Cheers bear

Nomadic how do I get to buy from STA when I'm not a student, would love to buy from them. Thanks STA is no longer student travel. It is STA as in Star. I just happened to call into the Melbourne shop early this year when looking for a flight back to Bangkok and was cheapest I could find and turned out the best flight ever with Qantas. Since then I get their emails. So anyone can book. I believe but not sure that they are owned by flight center. But there never ever were cheap student flights. No such thing. It was only a con job for years. Many years ago I got exactly the same flight cheaper as an adult from a little travel agent than they were advertising for students. I think the law may have got them in the end. But now real cheap for all it would seem. In Flinders street opposite the station if you are in Melbourne. But air Asia/Jetstar on website only.

I again stand to be corrected. Still saying student & youth. I was told years ago there was no such thing as student prices with airlines. So possibly still a con job? Anyhow if cheap for all is all that matters.
