Anyone in Tasmania definitely should send a letter to Lambie. Yes her views on the card are concerning but from my experience as she follows me on Twitter she seems very reasonable and open to different viewpoints.

How about this for a plan? Pick out one, possibly two politicians and maybe one media outlet (ABC most likely) and just continually bombard them with emails and postal letters. someone would take note if they received 1000 at a time.

If it is of any use I would bite the bullet, so to speak, and attach my name to a suitable letter/email from this Forum. But I think it needs to be sent to every politician in the House of Representatives and the Senate. Banjo's suggested letter above, or similar, would be a good start and then, as nomadic suggests, perhaps we can follow it up once a month with specific questions or concerns we would like clarified.

Twiggy forrest has been going around telling people his invented a miracle card that will solve all the drug and alcohol problems in society and even stop domestic violence. Because his a successful billionaire people believe him. But the basics card that operated in the NT for 7 years was a total failure, people just found ways around the card. Resistricting access to cash doesn't cure addcition, it has failed everyhere it has been tried, for example in the USA they have food stamps instead of cash welfare but people who want drink or drugs sell or barter their stamps or get the cash by other means. All twiggy forests card will do is make life even tougher for the majority on welfare who don't have problems with drink, drugs gambling

Yeah I think her views on the card are more misguided than they are anything else. Whereas the LNP views on it are ignorant and actually sadistic reasons.
On either note I have plans to send letters out and even message any which follow me on Twitter which several from ALP, Lambie, Greens parties actually do.

and can you add that all those on dsp especially, are fuming at the person who coined the phrase "WORKING AGE PAYMENT", that has caught on with every mongrel who uses it. There is no such thing and it only infers everyone on welfare is a bludger. As those who also formed the phrase "working families" FFS I usually am restrained, due to tape and cable ties, BUT the next time I hear one of those cloth eared moffsies talking about US as "those being booted off" and "rorters" I shall head down to Bunnings and buy a ladder. As heaven only knows, in past days when you upset so many, they will come over the walls to take back what has been stolen.

Revolution by the disadvantaged and resulting collapse of society isn't as silly as it sounds, it's happened many times in the past. History though, has always been ignored by the greedy. Mind the step Gina.

History though, has always been ignored by the greedy. Much of what we call so-called history, may in fact have been written by the victors btw...

You need to know where to look. A surprising amount was recorded by eyewitnesses and then rewritten afterwards, that's what you have to avoid.
Apparently the quote is by Churchill who was hardly unbiased himself.

BanjoWhen they finally sort out who is in the Senate and House of Representatives I am comfortable with putting my real name to letters from this forum.

Maybe your newsletter that you send could be the basis.

They all need to be informed & aware of, of what is happening over in the UK of struggling people taking their own lives, because their only livelihood was taken away of them etc. They all need to be properly informed, the whole lot of them & be held accountable, if they are found to be neglecting their rightful responsibilities/duties! Each individual, who's contributing in the senate too of course!

While I referenced being part of a 1000-strong forum, I took a fairly personal approach in my email to these guys as I want DSP recipients to be viewed as human beings, not just a number making up a 790K figure. I didn't reference the UK but I did mention the general distress caused by the lack of transparency around the 90K reviews. It's really up to you what approach you want to take. There are a couple of draft letters in this thread that have been placed here for you to work with - to either send as is or build into something you prefer. The point is that NOW is the time to be sending your emails off.
