I've been on DSP for over three years and I recently got a letter saying that I needed to go to a PP interview.
The first lady I seen was rather nice and gave me an exemption for two months until I could get a medical certificate saying I PERMENTLY couldn't work more then 7 hours a week for life by a doctor. After seeing a doctor I finally got one and returned to centerlink.
Sadly the guy I got to see next was horrid to say the least. He demanded I work (Not ask), I enquired politely if I could study instead and he flat out said No, Accused me of being "lazy" and "Playing the system" and "Faking" (His actual words) and said I needed a Job provider. After showing him the letter again he said he would only consider it after I get another work capacity assessment and booked me in for one even when I asked if I had a choice he just said "Goodbye" condescendly leaving me confused as heck.
Now I'm not expecting any help or answers I just really needed to vent. I have no idea if when I get this work capacity assessment again that it might effect my whole dsp and the whole mess has made me not sleep for days and constantly worry. I would've been happy to study for this plan but not happy to work as I have major mobility issues and even oxycotin doesn't help the agony.

Welcome to the forum lynxs . Venting is good.....calling the complaints line may also be worth a shot first off. 1800132468 If only to get it on record re your treatment.....if you do, ask for a receipt for the call. We have members who have been exited/exempted from participation plans and some first hand knowledge in how this can be achieved would probably be invaluable. Any questions, fire away! Cheers bear P.S. If you have difficulty expressing yourself and arguing your point.....try to find an advocate to do it for you. www.nssrn.org.au/www.nssrn.org.au/services/The following threads may give you some ammunition to use against them. I know this isn't helpful, but I would have ripped his head off if he treated me that way. To hell with the consequences.

Why should we have to suffer those consequences ? Better to record everything that is said on a cheap digital voice recorder. That way you can report them to their boss later.

Personally I would be speaking to a federal mp and the complaints line about the behaviour.
I have exited a program of support on medical grounds, if this is something you want to pursue there is a specific form to fill out, but you will need a job provider to be involved to complete it.
Check if your participation hours are 0-7 or 8-14... If you are under 35 it would make a lot of difference. If it is 8-14 the job provider would be able to request you attend a job participation meeting, if 0-7 they wouldn't be able to.

GGGGRRRRROOOWWWLLLLL. This must F'ing end. I think i will be arrested on my next visit. It needs the attention of the media. Disabled man sits on tram tracks outside Flinders st station will make the news for sure. I think this is what is needed. A dozen disable even better. ENOUGH is ENOUGH. People in wheelchairs who are on the dole will get some attention by blocking traffic. As we burn an effigy of Hank.

Sorry lynxs, i forgot to say welcome and say the usual. Determinination and resilience is sadly the only way to beat them. You must wear them down with evidence before they wear you down into giving up. If you give up then they win. So never give up and when all is over you will be so elated to defeat these vile sub species of some kind of animal. You will win but it make take more time than necessary as this is their game. Lies & fob offs. So stay positive and go for them relentlessly. P.S. as bear said vent away as I still do it daily. It took me 8 years to beat them but i still vent as I know what they are like even 8 years after I won. The whole system is far more disabled than any of us and needs to be cured.

The extra amount on a DSP as opposed to newstart is meant to help with health expenses, and whilst Centrelink make a note of saying at the end of the rejection letter, they state, we are not saying you don't have a disability! Then why the hell are they leaving people on newstart allowance? Some on a DSP may also be able to work up to 15 hours per week with the right supports in place and finding suitable employment, it isn't one side fits all, and Clink fail to acknowledge this. It is just one big mess up and people left with failing health to survive on newstart. Should I do a nomadic growl?
Perhaps I could work one hour at a time, but I am not sure which hour, and what employer would be happy for me to turn up just when my body is working well enough! I need a new body if I am to do what Centrelink say I can do!

If you've got a modern phone you've got one at your fingertips everytime you call them and everytime you sit down with them......tell them they are/will be recorded for training purposes; and if calling still ask for the receipt. I think it does their head in however; it's not illegal. Cheers bear

I am smiling. When I get get back I will call them just to tell them I am recording them even if i am not, for training purposes indeed. i need to learn how to lie and give you the runaround. i will call the complaints dept as before that I would now give anything to have had it recorded. It was the same as the girl trying to get off the card. Total insanity. 30 minutes of nothingness. funniest home video type TV or radio show. A clever bear yet again.

Recording any conversation in person anywhere, is legal unless specifically prohibited, like in court. Recording a phone call is legal, but I think you need to advise the other party. And you cannot use it in court unless it is about fraud. I know this because a few years ago I recorded a conversation with someone who owed me a large amount of money. I took the case to court and won. I transcribed the conversation into written form and it was accepted by the court....no problem. The other person employed a solicitor and barrister, and I appeared for myself. I won But I got trounced in the District Court because the judge was a silly old dinosaur. So I went bankrupt. Didn't affect me at all....I had no money.
