They have eased restrictions here in the Philippines so that tells me we are on top of it which is a good thing. But as they say "It ain't over till the fat lady sings".
Cheers

In hindsight, I think that they have done quite a good job here in the Philippines containing the virus, the key I believe was implementing strict quarantine guidelines from the word go, take a bow to all those responsible...
Cheers Itsa

Cheers Itsa That's the problem here itsa - most (if not all) the cases here can be traced back to a breakdown in quarantine. More quarantine like Howard Springs in NT in each state and Oz could have been opened up a year ago I feel.

Cheers Itsa That's the problem here itsa - most (if not all) the cases here can be traced back to a breakdown in quarantine. More quarantine like Howard Springs in NT in each state and Oz could have been opened up a year ago I feel. When I say Quarantine, what I mean is here in the Philippines well at least here in Cebu where I live, what happened was, only one person from each family was allowed to shop for essentials like Groceries, Medications etc, home quarantine. Everything was coordinated cars odds and even numbers families and so on. It was the same for shopping, Mondays Wednesdays and Saturdays, and so on I'm sure you get the picture. There was a curfew on young adolescents from around 8am morning to maybe 4pm. Senior Citizens including yours truly were prohibited from venturing out period to the malls, which is over 60s here... The Police was out in force as were the army as back up, checkpoints were set up between each Barangay/Suburb which minimized transmission. Being a senior citizen I was literally a prisoner in my own my own home for about 4-6 months. Duterte the president has recently only given approval for limited face to face classes for a limited few, the list goes on and on, despite being very much maligned in my opinion I believe they have done a hell of of a job under the circumstances, I'm sure there is a lot more to come on this topic. Cheers Itsa

I think there will be (and should be, in my opinion) debate about whether there was an under or over reaction. There's going to be a level of risk with any virus and whether each country is willing to live with the risk for its economic welfare is also a consideration.
Nomadic - the issue is with trying to compare worldwide statistics is getting any kind of uniformity as well. The uk is again going into winter, covid stat's should also be looked at alongside pneumonia/flu stat's to give a realistic view of where each country is up to.

Not good news at all bear no ICU beds and possibly a surge on the way. I just read an older post of nomadic's wow the UK has been hit pretty hard in all of this 141k ++plus deaths, the US also. I also read some comments on your above post someone made a comment that they were talking to a doctor who said the virus was going to be around for some time to come, not good news mate. I've got a non-medical friend who said It would run for 3 years start to finish cant say where she got her info It's time for everyone to start saying a few prayers I think. Take care all Itsa
