Sorry for posting when I do not think I can help with any information but I really want to ask if the 10 points for being on buprenorphine is an actual fact or if it is more an opinion. Full disclosure- I am prescribed buprenorphine and I do honestly admit that it messes with my mental abilities in certain areas of my life as well as messing with my physical health but I am seriously surprised to read that it comes along with 10 points. Is this real bear? Well Ms Purple there we have it, though it's not carte blanche. It's only relatable to one specific to table, and only in the 10 point scale if being used in an ORT regimen. Thanks for that info eligiu , it's certainly not something I was previously aware of and I have scoured the points tables many times over the years. Very enlightening!! The table concerned is actually Table 6 and the link is to a non .pdf reference. Cheers bear brq.org.au/centrelink-impairment-tables/"Methadone and buprenorphine are used in the treatment of opioid dependence. A number of resources can be accessed by prescribers and pharmacists who are administering these substances. This is to ensure that they are following standards that are consistent with best and safe clinical practice in treating opioid-dependent patients." www.health.vic.gov.au/drugs-and-poisons/pharmacotherapy-opioid-replacement-therapy

I get all mixed up because my tables are 5, 6, and 7. I'm not surprised you haven't seen it because it's more of a footnote in the tables and I missed it the first couple of times I glanced through it. Like with the mental health question I think it is in the 20 point scale question E or F relating to being physically slowed/impaired by psychiatric medication is where your question of taking things like Risperidone, Clonazepam etc etc would come up. My psychiatrist agrees I struggle with reaction time due to my medication load as I'm on strong anti-psychotics and anti-convulsants so I believe there is provision to discuss the way mental health medication functionally impacts someone.

I think the context given by the OP strongly suggests that its speculation. No one gets to decide how many points something is worth other than the JCA. This quote is from table 7 of the impairment lists. It clearly states if you are on replacement therapy that you are assigned 10 points. If the functional impacts were serious enough, you might get more than 10 points for that. It would have to be very concisely put by the doctor, however.

It definitely would've given a higher level of confidence in going through with an application. In regards to the 'Of note' below; are new tables on the near horizon?? Just before the question about work I believe. Hopefully I get my assessment/report in before the new tables are announced.
