Centrelink wont give me a card saying I must remain in Australia for two years to qualify. Equal rights for all pensioners, that's what this site is about.

Was this the bank in Japan? I thought that they had to take you to court to access your bank account. Send money Western Union, it's expensive but virtually undetectable.

We need to get more information on this, can you write to your MP or Minister Macklin for an explanation of how it works and what the Act actually says? I just can't see how an Australian citizen being paid an Australian pension isn't entitled to a health care card while he is in Australia.

It sounds like the ATO has a garnishee order against your fiance. If I was her I would be contacting the bank to find out of this is the case.

International Centrelink reinstated my concession card without me even asking. Still scratching my head over that one.

ok got the callback from welfare rights,an basically she thinks i could have good enough residency ties if i needed a reveiw if i was cancelled but if they stop my payment if i left again i would be a returning resident with the relevant portability ect.so really as of this moment i have not been cutoff so i cant appeal it,welfare rights said he will not put the( one month thing) on paper, so the only thing to do really is when i have finished here an ready to go talk to the "specialist" an start to stir the pot or rattle the bees nest! by asking for the one month to be put on paper and if he does not want to,i will have to argue the 13 week rule? but W/R also added he might be giving me a subtle warning that after the 1 month was up he might decide that on time away that i am a non resident?see so we go back into the "grey zone" of this residency ruling, then you get through that it will be time in/out an then get through that then what??? then if i did have to reapply it would be under the new rules?? is that right because i would be reapplying not re instatment of dsp.hmm what to do?? but here is a thought this remark has no racial under tones in it what so ever but i was wondering what the residency ruling would b for indigenous australians what has or is being ruled on them in regards to this?? as this has already happened but have not been able to speak with these people, that i would love to know!so sorry did not really learn much from W/R but it is time for me to throw my hat in the ring an see what should be fair for everyone.

If you are cut off due to residency and you appeal, whether it be ARO, SSAT or AAT and you get your DSP reinstated, it would not be a new application. It would only be a new application if you had to reapply. Re your second comment about what would happen if an indigenous Australian was cut off. What is the bet that that would NEVER happen in a million years anyway. No one at Centrelink would have the guts to declare an indigenous person a non-resident for fear of being branded a racists.

I'm sure the international press would enjoy that story and it could also highlight the double standards being used on DSP people in this country.
