Don't be afraid to allow silence to fall while you think of the answer to a question.

Welcome also Brent. The vast majority (99.99%), of us are not trying to fool anyone. They just perceive we are because they are bigoted lunatics. Every single person who is on DSP whether from 30 years ago or yesterday is entitled to it under the rules of the day. They change the rules or goal posts is all they do to suit all the afore mentioned bigoted lunatics. Your case again only wants to make me scream. Take care and try not to stress out because that only hurts you and it is them we want to hurt.

Think carefully before you answer anything, the less competent assessors have been known to slip in trick questions. This is another reason to if possible take a supportive person with you to the assessment.

Cheers for the help. Wow last week I was a mess about it. I've cancelled pet insurance. I'm paying for my 11 y.o. son to go to a better school. He went from Cs and Ds to As. Now I'm worried I can't afford that. I already leave myself short even if Child support claims I don't have to give that amount. Anyway I went from no understanding of the system I'm up against to feeling a lot more prepared. Like I said this site and the people here are a Godsend.

When we started this forum a number of members were looking at, and with some it eventually happened, separation from their wives and children with no way of sending them any, or very little, financial support. These made us work the hardest and gave us the most sleepless nights.
One thing we learned is that Centrelink don't care, you can work as hard as you like and live on virtually nothing to support your kids and give them a better chance but if Centrelink believe that your i's aren't dotted and your t's aren't crossed they will cut you off and throw you to the wolves without a second thought.

C/L seems to be just a mechanical entity without any human conflicts. Then again so is a psychopath. But my care for my son is within myself. Others tell me I should only give what I have to as his mother is receiving all the family tax benefits and such. But when she did the generic responses to a break up by trying to keep him away and not allow contact I felt connected one way or another by giving her child support and not feel bitter. The endless fight through a system that really gives no consideration to a father unless he pays for lawyers and then loses anyway. Eventually she got a boyfriend when he was 4 yo and suddenly I was a way she can have a baby sitter and then he was in my life.
Hell, I know there's more to come as she was put on a DSP for depression in 2013 and I suspect she may not survive the review process. Life certainly can through curve balls and it can only get worse under such a cold government such as the LNP has become in the recent years. So I guess I'm trying to arm my son with the best opportunities he can get as the future looks bleak for the vulnerable.

Just an update. After all the waiting and due by dates changing ,for the worst, for getting my papers in; It's been over a month and still have heard nothing. This is the problem as they put people through this and then take there precious time to let one know anything while one sweats it out. I'm doing an MRI today so they can't say CAT scans are not enough. PS. I see Morrison is still attacking the vulnerable with his latest announcements about the budget repair. I can't describe what a grub this government is. OK that's my rant. I'll let you know the next step of this retched review when they let me know something finally!

I could have sworn that I pay taxes on just about everything I buy, like food, rego, petrol etc etc
But maybe I'm mistaken...

Thanks for keeping us informed. Sharing your experience with Satanlink will help others be prepared.
Yeah, I see this thing called "GST" on many things I purchase...guess the "T" doesn't stand for "tax", like I thought it did.

Morrison actually said that he was going to target people that don't pay enough tax in their lifetime to cover the payments made to them in the form of a salary by the Government/Taxpayer. My jaw dropped. Does he not see how terribly idiotic and hypocritical this makes him. Dear Mr Morrison - Will you pay enough tax to cover the payments made to you by the Government/Taxpayer in the form of your salary? In fact, I saw a report that, unless your earning a six figure income, a person will never pay enough tax to cover what the government has already spent on them to get them where they are today. www.forbes.com/sites/moneybuilder/2011/03/17/how-much-do-you-pay-in-taxes-over-your-lifetime/#448331464de2

Welcome Brent With what your yearly CT's reports say, it sounds like you shouldn't have a problem. If you can maybe get a letter from where you're studying to show what supports they are supplying and if there is any "required" hours of study (hopefully less than 15 or even better 8) would only bolster your case. Let us know how it goes. Hi Krystal. Thanks for the advice. As with study have you heard about "flexible learning model"? I'm down as a full time student doing a diploma of computer systems engineering with a 20 hour a week work load. But it's not like the old days of uni. It's a situation where all your subjects are online and two lecturers are always in the main learning room, which is full of computers, and if you need help you just ask. Or you can choose to study at home and only come in when needing a problem solved or doing a prac activity. If you want to lay down all day and study from your bed you can. As long as the subjects are completed by the due dates set out by your workload one can stay at home and submit all via email. So that's why I can study with my condition. I'm studying from an interest in electronics and computers not from a view for employment as I can't work , nor could I ever pass a pre-employment medical. Also this helps battle the depression that invites itself in when one has a static mind because the body can no longer work. In fact this is my idea of cognitive behavioral therapy after 2 years with a psychiatrist.

Here we go. After all the medical evidence I sent in I just got my orders to come in for " an interview" in 12 days. Although they never said it on the message it will be a job capacity assessment and I'm ready.
