Well that is what i am asking. Plain and simple, how long can i stay in Philippines. Thanks ghostbuster. Wasn't sure. As far as I know but unless they change the law on us back in Australia you can stay here forever. But, of coarse, you have to comply with Philippines visa laws. I'm a bit like bangalorebiker in that I find it a bit hard to get around these days but I have to leave the Philippines in about a weeks time to satisfy the Philippines 3 year rule.

Yes Denis i did the 3 year fly out, fly in in April to Bankok stayed 2 days and back to Manila. I overstayed in Manila and they were not happy, got a warning that if i did it again they would consider deporting me. I`m wondering when they will increase the 6 months to 1 year.

Proud to know you. I go to Hong Kong next week. Just overnight. The only reason I picked HK is because of the english language ability. I am so stuffed with my hearing and need the double to read lips. Deafness is not one of my reasons for DSP. Don't know about the 6 month to 12 month thing. What I'm amazed at is they allow 3 years. Can't get that in Australia. I appreciate that countries need to check on whomever comes into their country but just think that it was not until about 1926, or thereabouts, that the whole system of passports was created. Maybe League of Nations time and before the UN? All the best.

I did the same thing in Thailand, here it's a 500B ($20) a day fine (maximum 20,000B) if you report to border immigration yourself, but if the coppers pick you up they lock you up.

yep checked that out few years back, another grab money trick by PI Immigration what shied me away was the crap about depositing 10 grand Yankee doll's, i got better things to do with my money than to let them get the interest n besides i only wished i had 10 grand Yankee dollars, Residence Visa for the Philippines If you are legally married with a Filipino citizen, you may apply for the permanent Resident Visa (13A) as stated of the Philippine Immigration Act of 1940, Section 13. You must meet the following requirements: Notarized letter of application by the Filipino spouse Accomplished and Notarized General Application Form Copy of the birth certificate of the Filipino spouse, authenticated by the NSO Authenticated copy of the Marriage Contract by the NSO or Philippine Embassy abroad (if you got married abroad) Immigration Clearance Certificate Copy of the foreigners passport showing the date of arrival and Visa (Balik Bayan Stamp) certification of a savings bank account with the minimum 10,000 US$ on it to prove, that you can financially support your family pay about 20,000,- Pesos in total for fees (10,000 for application and another 10,000 for approval) PAY PAY PAY your a rich foreigner so we can suck your money from you ASAP lol After the application is submitted, it may take several weeks or even month (more like a year) before you will finally receive your Resident Visa. After the first application, your Resident Visa will be granted for only one year. After one year you'll have to submit another application but in a more simple way and the Visa then will be good for 10 years, before it needs to be extended again. but you will be made to PAY PAY PAY money each year, You can apply for the Resident Visa (13A) at the Immigration Offices in Manila, Cebu and Davao City. You may also ask for advice and help at any other Immigration Office in smaller cities in the Philippines. After all, applying for the Resident Visa in the Philippines is a very time consuming process. If you are married to a Filipina anyway, you might also think about staying in the Philippines on the basis of a Balik Bayan Visa and make a short Visa Run out of the Philippines once a year. yep i been through looking at all that money grabbing crap, not like PR China where you get a 3 month visa then a 6 month visa then a 12 month visa, (being Australian it only costs around $20 to $30 depending on the dollar rate of the day) then you get a 5 yr visa after a medical test i do not know how much the 5 yr visa costs but not to much i think i know many expats living in china with the 5 year visa,

I note that it does not specifically state it has to be in a PI account, here it has to be in a Thai bank and is a lot more, 800,000B @25b to the AUD at the moment for a single guy, for some reason it's half that if your married, or income to balance it out (65,000 for single, 40,000 for married). Savings bank interest here is very low but it goes into your account, also you can use the money as long as it's back when the visa renewal time comes up, every 12 months.
