Yes Banjo i have no inclination to ever return back to a place which was home but now has changed to a place of corruption and fear mongering.

Ditto on that feeling Dave. I went to K K a few times but never liked it but then recently found a great area near the Roma hotel that is real Thailand with not a falang in sight. Real Thai street food stalls, a beer from 7 and it doesn't get much better than that. One of the places where the atmosphere induces one to have anothery at times. Chock dee krup.

I was down there a long while back doing my Lao visa at their consulate and there was a sign saying they were closed for new year (falang) for 4 days. So I booked in a hotel and went to this big pub for new years eve, they had a fantastic band and floor show and I got tangle up with a Dane and a Norwegian, we were still celebrating at 4am. Took me 2 days to recover.
